Bad Feelings

Valentine's Day.

Yuck.

I wish I could stay home. I'm already sick anyways but today I'll be seeing flowers, hugging, everyone who's single will be complaining and the teachers will be telling us about how not to pick the wrong person.

So far today has been as I expected. At least the day's almost over. We aren't doing anything in P.E. because the girls didn't want to mess up their hair and some boys were wearing fancier clothes than usual.

Me and Hayley sat in the corner furthest from everyone. We didn't talk much, we were on our phones.

I looked up to see the boys playing basketball. Hayden ran across the court and shot it. He missed.

"Come on man!" Blade shouted. "You can do it! Your on the basketball team! You should be the best one here." He laughed.

'Since when is he in basketball?!' I thought.

They started playing again. The other team got the ball and I decided to practice my skills. I crossed my fingers and placed them between my eyes.

Slowly I could feel my powers transmitting through to my fingers. I then put my hands to the side and watch the game.

The other team still had it. The boy was about to shoot and that's when I made a fist and softly hit the ground.

Making a fist towards someone means bad luck.

Crossed fingers pointing towards someone means good luck.

I rarely do this because I found out the more good luck I give to someone the more bad luck I get in my life. And same for the other way around. But I found it amusing when I made bad luck happen, I figured that I would use it for only bad things so I stopped. I didn't want to be evil.

As the bad luck traveled to him he had already shot it. I looked at the ball and used my powers to make it miss. It hit he backboard and bounced back, landing into Hayden's hands.

I made a fist when others tried to block him to take the ball, making them almost trip. Hayden shot it and I crossed my fingers and pointed towards the ball making it look like it was a perfect shot.

After a few more times of doing this my head started hurting. It was a side effect from doing this.

I had to stop but in the end his team won. I laughed whenever people from the other team tripped and fell.

Lunch was worse than this morning. The popular girls all got matching giant teddy bears. Well except one. I didn't see her at all today.

I continued to eat my lunch and Hayley did as well. We both hated this day. We both thought it was gross.

Suddenly I felt someone watching me. I put down my fork and look to the door way. Someone's head moved out of sight.

I growled and Hayley notices. "What's wrong?"

"Someone's been watching me for the past few days. I get a headache every time it happens."

"That's strange. I've felt the same." We both continued looking at the door but didn't see anything else.

"Hey. My parents are going out today and my sister has plans with her friends do you think I can go to your house? I live nearby remember?"

"I'll have to ask my mom. But I'm warning you now, I haven't had a friend over since 3rd grade so she might over react."

"Dose she know?" Haley asks.

"That I haven't had any friends, no." I stand up to thrown away my trash.

I get that feeling again and look to the doorway and see Ally. She wasn't looking this way though so it might not be her. I look to the other door but see no one.

I hear a high pitched sound and I close my eyes. Every time I hear that it means something bad is about to happen.

"Move." I say.

"Huh?"

"Move somewhere else." I pull her hand and move her to the hallways. I look back to see people bump into each other and all their food splashes to the wall where we were standing.

"Oh my gosh." Hayley laughed along with everyone else. I just turned as the bell rang.

"I'll message you if my mom says yes." I say as I leave. I still feel someone watching me but it was like they were right behind me.
