I woke up in the middle of the night. I looked around and immediately noticed the huge storm outside. A lightning struck the ground and brightened the whole room even though there were curtains. The ground shook like an earthquake, I felt my heart stop from fear. I sat up and looked out the window. A huge wave of rain hit it and then another strike came, almost directly in front of the house. I quickly looked away not to be blinded, but my ears hurt from the sound and I jumped back.
I calmed down, I looked back to see my aunt on her phone. "What time is it?" I asked.
She didn't answer for a while, so I asked again. She finally answered, "Three am."
I listened to the rain becoming softer and the thunder humming from a farther place, but the light show was still going on. It seemed about every few seconds a bright flash comes on, but the thunder wasn't too loud.
I laid back down and thought. 'I'm back...in finally back..no more makeup, or non-sparkly clothes. No more dating, and dealing with large groups-' I stopped when I realized.
The storm had completely stopped all of a sudden. But I faintly heard a few drops become gradually louder again.
'I...I'm alone again...I don't have a lot of friends there for me anymore...'

In the morning I got ready to go to school with encouragement. I had a job to do, to give out the crystal.
To only one person who deserves it.
I walked into school differently, I felt taller, better, more confident in myself. I didn't stare at my phone as I walked in. I walked looking up, not at the ground. I entered the cafeteria to see Hayley was early.
"Good Morning!" I said sternly. I hadn't seen her since the whole different universe thing. "You believe in magic right?"
"Huh?! What's with the sudden different Candace?" She asked with a confused look.
"You enjoy nature right?" I asked. She nodded with the same face. "I need you to meet me behind the school after the last class got it?"
She nodded again. "What's this about?"
"I'll explain then."
The bell rang and she left to her locker, I noticed the popular girls walk in. I stared and watched them sit down. 'I'm so glad they aren't talking to me anymore.'
I noticed Mazin was a bit late. She came running in and jumped excitingly. "Guys! Look at this little creature I found this weekend!" She showed them their phone and the girls backed away.
"Eww what is that thing?!" Cherry squeaked.
"A baby raccoon. I rescued it!"
Another girl spoke up. "That's gross! It probably has rabies."
I saw the brightness on Mazin's face fade. She put her phone away and faced Cherry.
"Maye, that's not the type of things 'cute girls' do. In fact you've been changing recently! Your style is off and your hair isn't even curled anymore. In fact I've noticed you've stopped wearing makeup." She crossed her arms.
"What's wrong with being myself?!" Mazin yelled. I looked down with a blank expression. I got up and walked slowly towards their table as they continued talking.
"Everything. Girls aren't supposed to be like this." Cherry glanced over to me. "Heh. There's a perfect example of how a girl shouldn't be like." They looked at me, Mazin looked surprised to see me.
I glared at the girls. "Yeah. I know. Aren't I the perfect example?" I smirked. They were set back at my sudden response, they probably didn't expect me to talk.
But I continued. "I'm the perfect example of what it's like to not fit in. Of how to not be corrupted with power, to not bend to the rules of society!"
I walked up to them and stood right in front. "I'm this way because I choose to be!! I like to be myself!! I would rather be alone, than to be 'friends' with you girls! Girls who act and look the same! Who have no sense of unique styles and personalities! Girls who think every girl should wear makeup, dress a certain way, and act a certain way!"
Their faces were filled with shock. I felt proud. I turned to face Mazin, she looked the same. "Mazin! If you want to be yourself, I suggest you do!" I smiled. As I was about to walk away Cherry stopped me.
"This is why I used you. Because you'd loose everything and everyone, and never do anything about it. You'll NEVER have the reputation you used to have. Never have the happy school life you used to have." I heard her laugh. "You'll always be alone."
'She's right...' I thought. 'I'll be by myself...because I don't fit in. They don't know what's it's like to be me though. The never experienced what I went through...' I could feel all the years of holding back, come. I was about to break down.
"Hey!" I turned to see Mazin facing her. "You know what! She'll have me from now on! Like how it used to be, and she won't be alone! I'll make sure she's happy and stays away from people like you! This time I'll protect her and stay with her! Unlike last time!" She grabbed her bag and walked towards me. I couldn't believe it.
I stared at her. It's been so long since she's been this close, other than when I was in the other universe.
"..Hey. It's been a while." I said nothing. "How about we start over...I'm Mazin!" She smiled and let out her hand. I stared at it, but refused it.
Instead I hugged her.
"...I missed this Mazin so much!"
"...I did too."
