Shot Down

"Okay Barack! Where is it! I feel like you've been leading me in circles." I heard through the skies. A lightning bolt soon followed.

I ran behind a house. A helicopter was nearby too. Probably to film the upset and spoiled girl.

'Your name is Zephyr!' Wendy said quickly before she faded. 'Remember you used to fly!'

I then jumped to try and get over a small fence. I expected to come back down but I didn't. I was floating inches above the ground. My stomach felt empty. "Okay okay....I-I'm gonna do this." I waited there just floating.

My hands were shaking, my heart was panicking, my head was swirling....or was I spinning?

Out of nowhere a blast of electricity comes at me. It was so close it made my hair stand up. I quickly doge it. And I suddenly felt a wave of confidence come over me. I wasn't myself anymore.

"You again!" The girl flew nearby. "Who exactly are you?" She landed at last. Even though I knew who she was, she didn't look anything like her normal self. But with the new confidence I had I spoke up.

"Zephyr! And who are you? As I recall I saved someone from your blast last time at a school. Heh. I'm guessing your here to do bad things? Right?" I say calmly.

She grinned widely. "Your right. And you can call me Ekaitz. Sounds exotic and unique doesn't it?"

"Well then why are we here talking when we can start fighting?" I glared her down my hands began to burn.

"Heh. I would love to but I have some unfinished business." She quickly flew up and started flying towards the train tracks.

I took in a deep breath and flew up. The cool air was in my face and surprisingly I wasn't afraid anymore. The view was amazing but I couldn't look down for long or else I'd start flying downwards.

'I guess I just look to where I want to fly.'

I spotted 'Ekaitz' flying downwards at a clearing. I knew this clearing too well. "This is where....oh no. I dropped down and landed just before she was about to shoot down a tree. The tree of darkness.

The helicopter finally came into view and was filming. I looked back to the girl but it was too late. In slow motion the wind picked up speed and the electricity from her hands hit the tree and started a fire.

The reddish brown wood started turning to charcoal black as the wave of heat blasted me and Ekaitz backwards. A tornado of darkness came out from the spot where the tree was hit and was absorbed by Ekaitz. She laughed evilly and when it was all gone the fire stopped. She turned towards me.

"Looks like we can fight now!" She laughed once again and I quickly flew up.

I slashed my hand in her direction. A light pink wave accelerated towards her and hit her. She fell but then got back up to fly. As she was coming near me she punched the air and a series of blue bolts flew near me. One hit me in the leg and was paralyzed for a moment.

I started falling but then came back up. I flew as fast as I could towards her, feeling like a jet in the sky I dodged all the bolts she shot at me and then I rammed into her. She went back a couple yards. The lightning in the sky was becoming stronger but the wind was fading.

The helicopter flew by us. It was focused on getting a few shots of the action but Ekaitz didn't seem to enjoy the attention. She shot a bolt of electricity towards the aircraft. As it was struck the plane stopped working and it started falling down towards the trees.

"Oh no!" I flew over trying to help with whatever I can. As I reached my arms out to help anyone who jumped, a pink orb surrounded the helicopter. I slowly put my hands down until I was about to land.

I turned back to see a huge yellow bolt coming right at me. It struck my chest and the voltage went throughout my whole body. It seemed to burn all the energy out of me. My hands were in fist as I was crying out in pain.

"I would destroy you now but I got what I came here for and I don't need to waste this energy on you." She smiled and then flew back up into the dark clouds.

I tried to fly over to her but my vision was blurry and my head was pounding. I could feel my flying become weaker and my panic coming back. I looked downwards to the ground and suddenly started falling. I did nothing to stop it.
