You're quiet. You're gentle. You're soft. You stay silent in the corner and spend time reading. You stay out of the spotlight. You smile at people who look at you in the halls. You use your time wisely and never say anything unnecessary.

So when you told your best friend that you love him and proceeded to disappeared for two months, you shook the world.

You are known as the unknown one. That's your title.

People never see you unless it benefits them.

All except your best friend, Kobori. He's protective of you and cares for you. He sees you as a little sister and you see him as a boy whom you're madly in love with.

When you left, people noticed. At first it was people you communicated with, then it was people who had seen you. Then it was those who had heard of you, and suddenly the whole school had your name on their tongue all the time.

'Is she here today?'

'Do you think she's dead?'

'Where the hell has she been for two months?'

'I heard she was sent to boarding school.'

'She is so unnoticeable! Imagine if you were like that.'

'I heard she is really pretty. Pity I never saw her.'

You are always talked about. It's a mystery to the world where you went and why you went.

Kobori had tried multiple times to go to your house. He knocked at least a hundred times but you wouldn't answer. He tried to tell you that he wanted his best friend back but it was no use. You couldn't leave.

"Y/N!" Here he is again. Knocking on your door.

You sigh.

Why won't he quit it?

You ask yourself.

"I SWEAR TO GOD! It's been two damn months and I haven't even seen you! I'm coming in. No, I swear, I'm going to break down this door." You hear a loud bang and your eyes widen.

No. Way. He actually kicked down my front door.

You furrow your eyebrows. Why does he care so much anyway?

You see a figure emerge and next thing you know your best friend is towering over you.

"W-Wha... What happened to you?"

You look like hell, you assume.

"Y/N?" He rests his hand on your shoulder and your whole body reacts and you jump away from his touch. It almost burns.

Tears fill your eyes.

"Hey... What's going on?" He takes a step closer to you and you back away. "Y/N... Tell me." He says in a soft voice.

You struggle to find your own voice.

"M-My-M-M... My mother is dead." You choke out. Kobori's eyes go wide.

"What?"

"She had c-cancer and the last thing she said before she died i-is... She made me promise... To confess to the one I love." You cry. "I became depressed after she passed. I didn't want to leave my house."

He remains silent for a while, taking in the new information.

"No way, Y/N. I'm so sorry. You went through all that alone? Why didn't you tell anyone... Why didn't you tell me?"

"I couldn't."

"You can tell me everything and anything. I missed seeing the girl I love around everyday."

L... ove?

You look up into his eyes and he smiles at you.

"Come back to school." He insists.

Your brain is screaming no.

Your heart is screaming yes.

"Okay." You give in.

"There she is."

"No way. She's actually here?"

"That can't be her... Does anyone even actually know what she looks like?"

"I thought she was dead..."

You squeeze Kobori's hand tighter and he runs his thumb over your hand. You feel relieved.

"I love you." You say softly in a gentle voice.

"I love you." He answers as he guides you through the crowds of people.

"Thank you for everything."
