"Give me your year, class and name." Riko says as she gestures over the railings. "Announce your goals here and now. If you fail to achieve them, you'll come back up here, strip naked, and confess your feelings for the girl you love."

"This'll be easy." Kagami says. "This isn't even a test."

In a swift movement, he jumps onto the railings and overlooks the assembly of students.

"Class 1-B, number five, Kagami Taiga! I will defeat the Generation of Miracles and become the best in Japan!"

« flashback over »

"Taiga~" You sing his name as you run up to him. "It's the first day of our final year in high school... and you didn't even walk me to school this morning." You complain while matching pace with the tall boy. The thought scares you a bit... being a third year and graduating.

He glances at you. "I told you yesterday that I wouldn't be able to walk with you today." Kagami answers nonchalantly.

"We're graduating and going out into the real world this year." You say as the realisation finally hits you.

"I've been out into the real world." Kagami answers as he peers down at you.

Last year Kagami got a call from Alex saying that American basketball scouts were interested in him. He was your best friend at the time so it was a hard goodbye. During the break between ending your second year and starting your third year, he came back to Japan. He said it was where he truly needed to be. He called you straight away and your friendship picked up where it left off.

"What are you doing? We're meant to meet over there." You point out the door just up ahead but Kagami waves his wrist at you, telling you to go.

"I've got something to do, go on without me."

You shrug and walk away.

Kagami takes a deep breath and starts walking up the staircase to the roof.

As he slowly walks up the stairs he replays in his mind exactly what he's going to say. He can't afford to stuff this up... it feels like the perfect time.

You drag your feet as you find your class in the massive crowd of bodies. The first morning assembly of the year is always the longest and most boring. You wish Kagami could be with you to keep you company.

You spot a girl and a few guys standing away from the crowd of students. They're talking and watching your classmates.

"Riko!?" You scream in surprise. You sprint away from the assembly and head towards your now graduated old schoolmates.

You pant and rest your hands on your thighs as you stare up at all of the former third years in surprise.

"What the hell are you guys doing here!?" You give each of them a friendly hug.

"We were in the area and thought we'd drop by." Hyuuga says as he playfully nudges your side. You furrow your eyebrows in confusion.

"What were all of you doing in the area at the same time? It's a weekday... shouldn't you be busy?" You ask with interest.

Hyuuga's eyes widen and he looks at the others for help. They look away and Hyuuga sweatdrops at their lack of assistance.

"Well... you see, Y/N..." Hyuuga trails off and his eyes land on something behind you. A smirk appears on his face.

"Class 3-A, number five, Kagami Taiga!"

You spin around and Kagami is standing tall behind the metal handrails of the rooftop. He is  completely naked and his junk is only just being covered by the rails.

He's staring over at you, even though you're extremely far away he still knows it's you.

"Two years ago I made a vow to defeat the Generation of Miracles and become the best in Japan. I defeated the Generation of Miracles but I haven't become the best in Japan yet," He shouts. "So I'm here to confess to the girl of my dreams butt naked!"

Your eyes widen as you finally remember the rules that come with joining the Seirin High basketball club.

"Y/N!"

You stare up at him with your mouth hanging wide open.

"I've been in love with you for three years!" His face flushes bright red.

You turn your head to see the boys and Riko chuckling.

Without a word you look back up at the crazy boy shouting in front of thousands of students.

"YOU ARE THE GIRL OF MY DREAMS!" His cheeks turn even more red as he confesses.

He pauses and lets out a shaky breath.

"I'm sorry I left Japan last year. I missed you every single day and I wanted to be with you so badly. I still do!"

You're completely dumbfounded.

No way this is really happening.

Someone jabs you in the ribs. You wail and hold your injured side. Kuroko stares at you innocently and waves a megaphone in front of your face.

Without hesitation you grab it and switch it on.

The whole school is facing you, watching your every move like a hawk. Hyuuga and everyone else's nerves are obvious. The suspense of what you're going to say is overwhelming everybody there.

"KAGAMI TAIGA, YOU IDIOT, I LOVE YOU TOO!"

A grin spreads across his face and he fist pumps the air.

"KAGAMI TAIGA!" The principal shouts as he runs up the stairs to get to the rooftop. Kagami's eyes widen and he tries for an escape.

You chuckle and shake your head.

Bakagami, I love you.

i'm finally home sweet home. it's good to be back & i really think it's about time i jump back into working out. i didn't exercise or do my usual yoga at all in the maldives 🙊🙊

acacia survived spending the week with aunty saskia. i only realised how much i missed my apartment and the people and city when i actually arrived home.

taking some time for a vacation helps keep people centred, grounded and grateful. it definitely was a memorable trip & spending it with jords made it that much more special. my bubba never ceases to make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world 😻
