HYUUGA X READER:
Better for You

"Are you sure?" Hyuuga asks.

"Yeah. Of course I am. Don't worry, Junpei." You smile at your overprotective best friend.

"But are you sure?" He repeats.

"Yes! He should be here any minute."

"Just let her go, Hyuuga." Riko comes up beside him and shakes her head.

"Have fun, Y/N!" She smiles. You nod enthusiastically and swing your arms around Hyuuga's neck. At first he was shocked but then he slowly puts his arms around you too.

"Thanks for being the best best friend in the world." You say. He nods lightly and you let go. You wave as you run off, well as fast as those heels could take you anyway. You weren't the dress up type, you were more of the:

'I'm going in my pyjamas'

type, but today is different.

Wakamatsu is waiting outside the Seirin basketball courts and as soon as you step outside he smiles brightly at you.

"Hey, Y/N."

"Hi, Wakamatsu!"

There was just something about that giant basketball player that made you smile and you want to get to know him more. You guess he felt that too, considering he asked you out a date.

"Where are we going?" You ask as he leads you away from Seirin High.

Little did you know that Seirin was where you should be right now.

"That's gotta hurt." Koganei says as he pats Hyuuga on the back.

"It's okay, Hyuuga. It's probably just a one time date, she'll be over him by tomorrow." Riko assures him. She has a worried look on her face for her friend.

Hyuuga just continues staring out the window at you clinging onto Wakamatsu's arm and he feels an indescribable pain in his chest.

"Mitobe says that you'll be okay." Koganei adds and Mitobe simply nods.

"What's everyone so gloomy about?" Kuroko asks and tries to peek out the window but Hyuuga was hogging it.

"Shh!" Riko exclaims. Kuroko looks at her blankly. Riko points out the window at you laughing at one of Wakamatsu's terrible jokes and Kuroko finally realises what's going on.

"Hyuuga loves Y/N."

"Aomine is such a bastard." Wakamatsu says. You nod weakly.

This is pretty much all he had been talking about the entire date. Aomine this, Aomine that, basketball this, basketball that, blah blah blah. Sure, you like basketball, but anything gets annoying when it's been blabbed about straight for hours and hours out of a boring persons mouth.
When someone who interests you talks about it... That's a different story.

"The dessert here is good!" He takes another scoop of the ice-cream you two were meant to be sharing and you roll your eyes. It's not like you would know how it tastes.

Hyuuga would have slid it to me and insist that I should try it first.

You shake that strange and random thought out of your head.

"Okay, I'm done. Let's go pay, yeah?" He says. You agree and stand up and walk to the front together. The lady says the price and Wakamatsu takes out some money but it wasn't enough.

He turns to you.

"Hey, Y/N? Have you got any money?" He asks. You slide your hand into your wallet and pass him whatever money you had.

Hyuuga wouldn't have taken me to a restaurant he knew he couldn't afford.

You furrow your eyebrows in confusion. Why were you even thinking about Hyuuga when you were on a date with another guy?

Wakamatsu thanks the lady and interlocks your fingers together.

Hyuuga's hands are softer.

"H-Hey!" You yell as Wakamatsu pulls you into an alley. "What are you doing!?"

"You're an expensive girl, aren't you?" He says as he runs his tongue along his bottom lip. He slides his hand up your leg and squeezes roughly. You involuntarily whimper in pain.

He stares into your eyes hungrily and licks your neck.

"HELP!" You scream out. He wraps his fingers around your neck to shut you up. You thought that was it. That you were going to die.

You shut your eyes.

Suddenly, all the weight is taken off you and you could breathe again.

You cough and open your eyes to see Kagami and Mitobe holding Wakamatsu. The whole Seirin Basketball Team was there, and they looked angry.

Hyuuga lifts his clenched fist and takes a swing at Wakamatsu's face.

You wince as blood splatters onto the wall after Hyuuga collides his hand with Wakamatsu's mouth.

Kagami and Mitobe throw him aside and he helplessly scurries along the ground.

"Y/N! Are you okay!?" Hyuuga rushes over to you and helps you stand up.

"Hyuuga..." Tears brim your eyes. Hyuuga pulls you into his arms and holds you tight as you start to cry.

"Y-You followed me?" You ask between sniffles.

"I didn't want the girl I love going on a date with some creep. Thought I'd follow and make sure he didn't try anything. Good thing I came, isn't it?" Hyuuga strokes your hair.

"The girl... You love?" You look up into his eyes.

"Yeah." He smiles down at you.

"Hyuuga, I love you too." You admit. "I thought about you the whole date. At first I was confused but I always knew deep down that I love you with all my heart. You've been too good to me."

"I knew from the second I heard Wakamatsu and you were going on a date, that I'm better for you."

"KISS GODDAMMIT!" Koganei yells.

You and Hyuuga laugh at the whole team who are either crying their eyes out or grinning ear to ear. Or, Kuroko, who was simply staring.

You turn back and gaze into Hyuuga's eyes. He leans down, then gives you a passionate kiss.
