"Kise-kun, such a gorgeous boy." One of the girls standing beside your locker says.

"Oh, I know. I wish he was my boyfriend." Another one wails.

Your hair falls over your eyes and darkens the top half of your face. You let out a shaky breath and try to ignore your classmates constant sweet talking about Kise.

"Can y-you sign this for me, Kise-kun?" You look past your locker door where Kise is grinning as he signs a first-year girl's poster.

He's clearly enjoying the attention.

Well, that's no surprise, really. You've been best friends for years and Kise's always been happy to be in the spotlight. Although, it bothers you when girl's are constantly taking his attention away from you. You two maintained an innocent friendship since you first met in middle school. Every day for years he would walk you home from school and you'd always stop at the same park bench to sit down and talk. Sometimes you drew the gorgeous scenery and Kise watched.

It hasn't been this way recently. Ever since you encouraged him to persue his modelling career, he's grown insanely popular. He hasn't been able to walk you home recently due to fans, interviews and photo shoots taking up most of his time.

You haven't picked up a pencil to draw on that bench in months.

You are in love with him and he is in love with you. Both of you know the feelings are mutual, but the overwhelming fear of rejection and a lost friendship seem to paralyse both of you, forcing you to keep it as a friendship.

When girls used to flock him and confess, he would always reassure you that he didn't want anything to do with them. But you haven't had time to talk to your best friend and that same reassurance is gone.

These are the thoughts racing your mind as the first-year girl throws her arms around Kise's neck.

You watch in shock as you see no sign of him moving away from it.

Kise looks over for the first time and your eyes immediately meet. His mouth opens slightly in shock. You're standing beside your locker with tears filling your eyes as she latches onto him.

You don't even know why you're crying.

It takes you a split second to break off eye contact and slam your locker door shut. Your feet spin you around as you dash in the opposite direction.

You have no reason to be upset. You aren't together.

But you should be.

"Y/N-cchi!" He calls out after you.

You ignore him and run as fast as you can to get off the school grounds, heading straight for the main entrance.

Students all around you are staring in shock as you run away with heartbreak written all over your beautiful face.

"Hey, are you okay?" A passing boy asks. He reaches his arm out to grab you and stop you. His fingers latch onto your wrist and you weren't planning on stopping, so the sudden momentum change throws you off balance.

You begin to fall backwards when a strong pair of arms catch you effortlessly.

"Don't you touch her!" Kise shouts menacingly and the hallway suddenly goes silent as people tune in to hear the famous Kise screaming in anger.

"I-I was just trying to help." The boy quickly exclaims in defence.

"She could have fallen, you idiot!" Kise is fired up and about ready to punche the innocent boy in the face.

"Why on earth is my precious Kise-kun protecting that nobody girl?" The young female's voice comes out a lot louder than she was expecting. It echoes through the hallway and she quickly clamps her hand over her mouth in embarrassment when she realises everyone heard.

"Tsk," Kise clicks his tongue in anger as his head whips around to the direction of where the rude comment came from.

You rip out of Kise's strong grip and continue running towards the exit.

"She's weird."

"Y/N! Stop!" Kise screams out but you keep running.

You sprint and sprint, hearing footsteps trailing behind you trying to catch up.

You ignore them. 

After running far away you eventually find yourself standing in front of the same bench you and Kise used to sit on everyday.

"Y/N! Stop running away from me!" Kise shouts as he rounds the corner to find you standing there staring aimlessly at the bench.

You spare a second long glance at him before looking away. "What do you want?" You say into the wind.

"I want to know what your problem is!" He yells in a fit. You flinch.

"I'm sorry, but your fans are more important. Go away." You sharply reply. Kise's face drops into a deep frown.

You sit down on the bench and he takes a seat beside you.

Silence takes over.

"They're not." Kise says after many minutes pass.

A cold breeze blows past you and your hair flies around.

"What?"

"They're not more important to me than you." He says softly as he stares at the ground. "It'd be pretty hard to find anything in the world more important to me than... You." Kise says. His hand clenches into a fist in his lap.

"Why?" You ask. You can't bring yourself to look at his face.

"You're the one."

You look up into his eyes. He's staring down at you with a small, innocent blush. A strand of hair falls over your wide eyes.

Kise's soft hand brushes the lock out of your face and his fingertips hover over your cheek.

"The one, huh?" You mutter.

"The one." He slowly leans forward and you lean in, too.

Your eyes shut and so do his, as lips that can say a million more things than words finally connect. He's warm.

He pulls away but his hand remains on your cheek.

"I'm sorry I've been so caught up in modelling and basketball. I don't love anyone else in the world like I love you. Girls chase me, but I don't want any girl by my side, except for you. Believe me... All I want to do is come to this bench with you and sit for hours, but I've been too sidetracked and I see that now. I want to be with you all the time, Y/N-cchi. I don't want anyone taking you away from me."

"I love you." You whisper. His cheeks turn red again.

"I love you more."
