Chapter Seven: I'm Not Jealous Because I Can Do This
[Isaac Colten Sutts]
"Oh, I forgot to tell you! Zales told Leon and his friends his real name on Monday." I looked over to CC to see him Reading a book. I took my glasses off and rubbed at my eyes for a minute.
"I knew it would happen soon. With Zale's past with Leon, it was bound to happen." He looked at me for a moment and put his book down. I set my glasses down on my lap and looked over to him.
"I'm not used to you without your glasses. And you never did tell me their past." I shrugged.
"They were giving me a headache. Their past isn't all that much. When they were younger they were best friends. It lasted until middle school when Leon's parents separated. Leon started to get violent towards the smaller kids. Zales didn't like it so he told him it wasn't right. Leon's bullying was soon turned toward Zales and resulted in him having an even worse life than he already had. His father's abuse, as well as Leon's betrayal, made Zales a loner. When Leon disappeared in their freshman year Zales changed. He was still a loner but he started to dye his hair and wear hoodies. He had a scar on his face and no one could recognize him. He had everyone call him Zales. Pulled teachers out to tell them and I guess you know the rest. Leon showed back up and flipped his world around. His dad died and his life got better. He's just now showing the real effects it had on him." I moved a little closer to try and clear the blurry blobs that I knew was CC.
"I knew his case was a bit special but I didn't know all of that." I shrugged and went to pick up my glasses but I realized they weren't on my lap anymore.
"Did I drop my glasses?" I heard him chuckle.
"No. I have them. I didn't want you to put them back on." I frowned and squinted at him.
"Why not?"
"Because if you put them on I wouldn't be able to watch you struggle." I glared before reaching out to him.
"Give them back. I can't see without them." I could tell that he shook his head so I stood and stood in front of him.
"Just give them back to me! I like to see you know." He stood up too and I could see his face almost clear now.
"You have to say something you've never told me before." I sighed and stared at him.
"My favorite color is blue."
"That doesn't count! Anyone could've guessed that."
"Fine, you're my second favorite person." He frowned and looked at me.
"Who's your first?" I chuckled and put my hand out.
"Your son is my favorite person in the whole world. Are you jealous?" He pouted and instead of putting my glasses on my hand he grabbed a hold of it and pulled me towards him.
"I could never be jealous of my son. He can't do this," He let go of my hand and placed his hand on my neck before pressing his lips to mine. I widened my eyes before he pulled away and he placed my glasses on my face.
"We should head to bed. It's almost 9:30." I stared at him in disbelief before he grabbed hold of my hand again and pulled me in the direction of the stairs. I followed close behind as we made it the upstairs.
"We're not going to talk about what just happened?" He stopped and turned toward me.
"I'm supposed to wait until I'm sure of my feelings, right? You never said I couldn't do that." I just stared at him as he pulled me to his bedroom. He let go of my hand and started to strip down to his boxers. I still stared at him and saw him cock his head to the side.
"You have work in the morning. You should lay down." I still just stood in my place as he walked over to me.
"Or I can help you out." But before I could question him he started to unbutton my shirt and pulled it off. I came to my senses and pulled away from him and took my pants off. He nodded satisfied and went over to his bed and laid down. I followed close behind and laid down next to him.
"Good night. Don't let the dreams bite." I stared at him again before responding.
"Good night. Don't let your wonders scream." I closed my eyes but before I fell asleep I felt him wrap his arms around me. His warmth made it almost impossible to calm down. I turned around and faced his chest.
"You really are impossible."
