Chapter Ten: Our Son
[Isaac Colten Sutts]
"Hey, he's gone." I nodded and buried deeper into the covers only to have them pulled away and have CC replace them. He was warm and I wished to feel it. My skin was cold as death and so was my heart. I felt dead and CC's warmth only made me feel colder.
"You know; he was never considered a real father. Amanda divorced him because he was a cruel person. She didn't feel safe with him around anyone. The one thing you didn't know was that she could only gain custody of one child. You were the one that she couldn't have. He gave you up, not her. I'm sure she'd love to meet you. She always did feel empty without family, and with Taylor gone she's probably lonely." I felt a sliver of hope warm my spine.
"You think she'll like me? Even though she's never met me?" He nodded and pulled me to him.
"We can go see her tomorrow if you want. We'll have to wait till I'm off work but she probably misses familiar faces anyhow." I nodded and snuggled up to him.
"Hey, Cilyn?" His name rolled off my tongue like silk.
"Yeah, Isaac?" I smiled and leaned up and kissed him.
"Thank you." He cocked his head to the side in disbelief.
"You really think that was enough for a thank you?" I grinned and shrink into a ball as he went to kiss me again.
"Oh come on! Please?" I laughed before leaning back up.
"This is the last one. Got it?" He only grinned and nodded.
"Got it." He leaned down and captured my lips with a gentle but long kiss.
"See? It's not so bad." I rolled my eyes and laid my head onto his chest.
"How long before we have to get ready?" I heard him sigh and shift slightly.
"About half an hour." I groaned and turned over so that my back faced him. He pulled me by my waist and I suddenly realized something.
"You're not that lucky. You should probably go take care of that." He shook his head and rubbed his face into my hair.
"But it's so far away. Can't I do it right here?" I sighed and turned to him.
"It is your room. I guess I'll just start getting ready now. Don't forget to wash your sheets, I'm also taking the blanket with me." He gave me an amused look before laughing.
"You're serious, Aren't you? Oh my God! Hahahaha!" I rolled my eyes and tugged at the blanket and put it over my shoulders.
"Have fun. I hope you don't make too much noise." I left the room with the blanket and went to the living room to lay down.
"I'll make as much noise as I want!" I chuckled and ignored him. When I made it downstairs I went over to Andrew's room and picked him up and went over to the living room and looked at the ceiling.
"Your dad is impossible. You know that, right?" He kept his eyes closed and slept peacefully.
[Cilyn Carson]
I removed my sheets and walked down to hear complete silence. I put the sheets in the laundry room before washing my hands and going to search for Isaac. I found him laying down and wrapped in the blanket with Andrew in his arms. I got my phone put and took a picture of them. I then went over and pecked Isaac causing him to wake up.
"I thought our last kiss was going to be the one from earlier?" I shrugged and took Andrew from him.
"That was for that moment. This was for a different moment. Go get ready, I'm gonna feed Andrew and get him ready." He sighed and stood up and made his way to the steps.
"Don't accidentally drown him, kay?" I nodded and he went upstairs with my blanket. I then went to the kitchen and grabbed a container of baby food and a spoon before I set my son down in his booster seat. He grumbled his gibberish before reaching for the spoon.
"You want to feed yourself?" He continued to reach for the spoon so I handed it to him. He waved it around before throwing it across the room.
"So you want to play? Well It's not time to play. It's time to eat." I picked the spoon back up and opened the small jar and scooped some of it up and put it to his lips. Instead of allowing me to put it into his mouth he tried to take the spoon from me.
"Maybe I should have left this to the professional, aye? I'm sure Isaac would love to deal with you..." The baby than thrashed his arms around and made a gurgling sound.
"You're gonna laugh at me? How cruel. At least I pay for your food." Andrew then managed to take the spoon and chuck it across the room again. Just then a professional looking Colt walked into the room.
"Hey, take care of your kid." He raised an eyebrow.
"My kid? Last time I checked he was your kid."
"My kid that looks more like you and likes you more than the man who helped conceive him." Andrew waved his arms around.
"He wants you to hold him while you feed him." I looked at him like he's crazy.
"That's all I have to do to get him to eat?" He nodded and picked Andrew up before grabbing the spoon from the floor and reaching for the jar. He grabbed it and sat down before starting to feed my son with no problem.
"How in the hell did you do that?" He frowned.
"Watch your mouth. I'm not having my son repeat such foul words." I stared at him before rubbing my temple.
"I thought he was my son?" He shrugged.
"You called him mine so I guess he's our son." I sighed and put my head on the table.
"well our son likes you more than me." He shook his head.
"No he just likes to be held when fed." I sighed again and looked up at him.
"I'm going to get ready. You can have him ready by the time I'm done, right?" He nodded and kept feeding him.
"Also, I expect you to hold your tongue around our son." I laughed.
"Fine, fine." I walked out of the room and headed upstairs.
"Our son really does have the greatest parents."
