Chapter Twenty-Three: Young Love is the Cutest Part Two
[Isaac Colten Sutts]
"You looked kind of upset back there. Wanna talk about it?" Jaimie sat on the counter holding Andrew as I prepared his bottle. I heard Jaimie sigh.
"He won't tell me who he likes. I know he likes someone! He just won't tell me. It's making me mad." I placed the bottle in the microwave and went over to stand in front of him. He looked at me with a frown.
"Did you ever think that he's scared to tell you? Scared of what you think?" Jaimie looked at Andrew and shook his head.
"I just don't understand. He tells me everything. Then he likes some girl and he won't even tell me?" I smiled at him and lifted his chin up.
"Are you jealous?" His eyes widened and he pulled his head out of my grasp.
"Of course not. He's my brother. That's like asking if I kissed him!" I raised my eyebrow.
"He's your best friend, and your brother by adoption. You're not blood related. It's okay to like him." I took the bottle out of the microwave and tested the temperature before handing it to Jaimie. He fixed his posture and began to feed him.
"He sees me as a brother. It's not going to happen. We're still kids. In the future these feelings will be gone." I thought back to when Brayson and Chace were kids. Brayson once thought the same thing.
"Okay, but what if he tells you he likes you. What will you do then?" He looked up at me as Andrew went to grab onto the bottle.
"I don't know. Tell him to wait till we're older? I can't just be with him. We can't just say we like each other and be together." I nodded and placed my hand on his head.
"You're right. I made Daddy wait for another month before I said yes. So how long are you going to make him wait?" Jaimie raised an eyebrow.
"Daddy?" I laughed and nodded.
"We are your parents. I'm Dad and CC is Daddy. I guess we forgot about talking to you guys. Anyway, how long do you expect him to wait?" Jaimie sighed and handed me Andrew before sliding off the counter.
"At least until We're 13." He said and I laughed.
"What if he can't wait that long? That is two years away. What will you do when he finds someone else and you're all alone?" Jaimie looked thoughtful before grinning at me.
"I guess I just have to scare everyone away." I shook my head.
"He needs friends too you know. He can't just live only talking to us." Jaimie frowned and thought about it.
"Maybe I'll make him promise to wait for me." I smiled at him and nodded.
"That seems reasonable. Now, how are you going to make this promise?" Jaimie only smiled and left the kitchen and back to the living room. I followed after and when I walked in I could see Damon laying on Cilyn's lap. They were both asleep and looked at peace.
"Why don't I carry Damon upstairs and you can sleep for a while? When you're awake you can talk to him about your promise." Jaimie sighed and nodded. He went upstairs and I picked up Damon and headed towards the stairs also. I followed Jaimie to their room before laying Damon down onto his bed. Jaimie walked over and laid down next to him. He smiled at me before pulling the cover up over their shoulders. I smiled back at him and went over to the door. When I turned around to turn the light off I saw Jaimie's arms wrap around Damon. I turned the light off and shut the door.
"Kids are the cutest things when they're in love aren't they?" I smiled to Cilyn and pecked his cheek.
"Ye Cilyn, they are. Let's go lay down and wait for them to attack us." Cilyn chuckled and picked me up bridal style just like he did when we first met.
"You never change. You're always going to be impossible, aren't you?" He smiled at me and pulled my face to his. He licked my bottom lip and pulled away.
"If I don't act impossible how will you ever know it's me?" I shook my head and pulled his lips back down to mine.
"I guess I wouldn't." I pecked his lips and laughed as he began to walk down the stairs. I clinged onto him, wishing he had more sense. We made it down the stairs in one piece and he carried me to our room. He set me down on the bed and laid down next to me. I pouted when he pulled his shirt off and laid down.
"Tease." I mumbled before slapping his chest. He laughed and pulled my back to him.
"But I'm your tease." I looked up at him before pressing my lips to his. He pulled away and laid down fully.
"One hell of a tease. One that never answers to the needs of someone." I felt the bed shake a little as he laughed.
"Just wait a while longer. Soon I'll oblige to your needs, just not right now." I groaned and turned towards his chest. I snuggled closely to him and closed my eyes.
"Sleep well."
"Trust me, I will."
