Chapter Twenty-Eight: You Really Are Impossible

[Cilyn Carson]

"This is impossible..." I mumbled as I stared at the ring. It's been two months since I originally bought the rings and it's been nearly six months since I first met Isaac. I was scared that I was rushing our relationship.

"What's impossible?" I quickly slid the ring in my pants as Isaac walked in. I gave him a nervous smile and stood before walking past him into the kitchen. He followed me as if trying to figure me out.

"What are you talking about? Many things are impossible!" I tried to cover but he gave me that look. I stuffed my hands into my pockets and squeezed them tightly. The ring pressed into my palm but I was more worried about what was happening tonight.

"You've been acting really weird this week... Are you okay?" I nodded and my phone rang. I sighed, feeling a little relieved. I answered it and the sound of Brayson's voice met my ears.

"Hey, everything is ready. The only thing you need to do is get him here and hide the ring." I sighed in relief. I looked over at Isaac before turning away.

"We'll wait till you get here. After it happens, you can bring the kids up." I said and I heard a distant laugh and an engine starting.

"Got it. We'll be there in five minutes." We hung up the phone. Isaac gave me an odd look.

"What was that about?" I raised an eyebrow.

"We have to go somewhere today. I thought I told you..." I attempted. Isaac looked very confused now. I grabbed my keys and pulled on my shoes when the door opened.

"We're here!" Brayson called, making me roll my eyes. He walked in and the kids were suddenly attacking him to the floor.

"Thanks for this." I said as I helped him up. He pulled me into a hug before looking into my face.

"Anything for you. Now go make my brother happy. He seems very confused." I chuckled and hugged him back.

"He is. Bring the kids up when I call." He pulled away and nodded. Isaac walked over to us. He glared at me before walked out of the house.

"Don't worry, he'll say yes." I nodded and followed Isaac out. Brayson waved from the door as I made it to the car. I waved back and got in. I pulled out. Isaac sat in the passenger seat with a frown.

"What's wrong?" I asked. He frowned deeper.

"I just feel like everyone is keeping something from me." I smiled lightly. We were, but he was going to find out soon.

"Don't worry too much about it. I'm sure they'll tell you what's going on." He still frowned and turned to me.

"What about you? What are you keeping from me?" I smiled at him and shook my head.

"Now I wouldn't want to ruin my plans. You're about to find out. Don't make me postpone it even more." I said as he sighed and hung his head low.

"Is it something good?" I shrugged.

"It depends on how you respond. It should be good but it might not be." Don't give too much away. I pulled into the parking lot of an empty looking building.

"You don't need to kidnap me; I already live willingly with you." He said as I exited the car. I chuckled and helped him out.

"I'm not kidnapping you. Just come on in." I said. He gave me a doubting look, but followed me in anyway. I opened the door and we walked into a pitch black area. Soon we were surrounded by the glow of candles. I was on my knee and looking up at Isaac. He looked so confused.

"I love you, Isaac Sutts, with all my heart. I'll do anything for you. I'd rather die than bare the grief of your death. I want to be with you for the rest of my life, to have our children call both of us their parents. I want you to know just how much I love you. So I will be your right hand man for the rest of our lives. I will be the very person you look for advice. I will be here for you till the end. Will you marry me?" The light turned on as I sat in front of him. Every picture we've taken together were hung up on the walls and all the people we called family and friends were surrounding us.

Isaac looked at everyone before laughing hysterically. He fell to the ground with me and took the ring from my hand. He placed it on his finger before hugging me closely. He set his forehead against mine and stared into my eyes with many emotions running through them.

"Of course I'll marry you. I thought you were going to ask during Valentine's Day. Let me tell you how stressed I was when I found out you only got the locket." I chuckled before pecking his lips and hugging him closer.

"I did buy the ring on Valentine's Day. I've just kept it till now." He shook his head at me.

"You really are impossible, but I love you anyway." He leaned in and kissed me softly, "Let's go home. I would like to sleep and dwell on the fact that we're going to get married." I laughed and stood.

"Then let's head home."
