"And of course, I broke into The Oval Office and took a picture of myself at the window, looking all JFK. But then I was like, wait, how am I supposed to get these photos developed?" Kai rambled on and on.

I held my head in annoyance waiting for him to shut the hell up but luckily Damon finally spoke up.

"Oh my god, just answer the damn question." He groaned. "How are we gonna get out of this Twilight Zone?"

"I got a question for you first. Why do you think we're stuck on a repeating loop of May 10th, 1994?" He tilted his head. "Doomed to relive a solar eclipse forever and ever and ever.. "

"How the hell should I know?" He drank a glass of bourbon.

"Well I heard you tell Bonnie and Nayeli this was your own hell. I'm kind of curious why." He shrugged.

"I found everything you asked for." Bonnie came in, holding a bag. "Can opener, shower drain, grinding wheel, jam.. pocket knife, volume O of the encyclopedia, A nail and a black marker." She dumped all of the items on the table. "Now what?"

I furrowed my eyebrows, shocked on how she found all of those things. And curious as to why Kai even needed them.

"Can't show you with my hands taped." He smiled glancing down at his hands.

I got up and took the pocket knife off of the table and walked over to him.

"Eli.." Damon trailed off but I ignored him and cut the tape wrapped around Kai's wrists.

"Thank you." He let out a sigh of relief.

"Okay, fine." Damon gave in. "How's this pile of crap gonna get us out of here?"

"I'll explain as soon as you tell me what you did on May 10th, 1994." Kai responded with a smirk.

"What difference does it make?"

"Put it this way: Bonnie's magic is part of the equation. Nayeli's magic and her magic put together is powerful enough to get us the hell out of here, plus she's cute. My as-yet undisclosed knowledge is the other. Which means you would be hitching a ride home for free. I just want to know if you deserve to come along."

Damon took the knife out of my hand and picked Kai up by his shirt. "Or I could just torture you until you say something useful."

"If you torture me, I'll get mad and then I won't want to help you." Kai glanced over at me with a grin. "What kind of person needs to have that explained to them?"

Bonnie reached over and took the knife from Damon's hand.

Damon released Kai, angrily as Kai just chuckled.

"Play nice." Bonnie scolded Damon.

"Stop trying to impress the new guy."

"Why don't you just tell him your story." I stepped in.

"Maybe because I don't want to tell him about the worst thing I ever did, Nayeli." He answered with a glare in his eye.

"Oooh." Kai opened up the jam jar and grabbed a handful. "Now I'm listening."

...

"I need to be entertained while I work.." Kai mumbled as he played with the can opener. "Hell story please." He turned to us.

"Remind me not to kill him." Damon muttered to Bonnie.

"Maybe telling him your story.. will take your mind off of it." She smiled sarcastically.

"Whose side are you on?"

"The side where we get to go home to the people we love."

"Fine." He gave up. "In May 1994, I was living here.. I'd come home to walk the straight and narrow.."

I tried to focus on his story but I couldn't stop thinking about the real world. About how Rebekah was coping right now. The memories to when we were all bonded strongly as a family.

"Kol are you quite done?" Elijah asked in annoyance as Kol fed on the innocent man.

"Brother, Elijah is all this truly necessary?" He tore himself away from the man.

"Brother, the road is  a major thoroughfare. If the bodies are found, word of our presence will spread to Mikael."

"We have run through autumn and winter, through sleet and snow. Are we cursed to forever live in fear of our father?" I sighed.

"I should say yes, sadly." Finn answered me, leaning on the cart.

"Finn, please. Niklaus?"  Elijah turned to him for help.

"Do we have any idea where we are running to next?" Rebekah spoke.

"Why not just do what we all thought of doing? Split up." Kol stood up, no longer interested in the man he previously fed on.

"We swore a vow." Niklaus finally stepped into the conversation.

"Your vows haunt me more than father himself. At least he can't chase us all. I say we take our chances."

"Perhaps Kol is right." Finn said.

"Thank you, Finn. As I've always said eldest is most intelligent."

"Stop talking." He held up his hand. "I take no joy in our assent  but I do wish to sleep in a bed. To bathe In a bath , to feed on proper food. If we divide--"

"No, brother." I cut him off "Niklaus is right, we made a vow. Family above all. Always. Forever."

The sound of Kai's fake snores snapped me out of my flashback.

"Perfect." Damon spoke. "Our savior's insane and narcoleptic." He poured himself another glass of bourbon.

"No, No, No. I'm awake." Kai said. "Let me guess, you killed the pregnant woman."

"Shut up Kai, you weren't listening."

"I was listening. In my sleep." He sat up. "You were hanging out with your distant nephew Zach who you called uncle Zach, 'cause that isn't confusing.. plus pregnant lady Gail who had a big bulls-eye on her chest. Got it."

My eyes widened. "Wait what?" I turned to Damon. "Tell me you didn't kill a pregnant woman."

"Well that's totally what happened." Kai said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Why else would today be his personal hell?"

Damon walked over and crouched down in front of the table, setting his glass down.

"The only reason you're still alive is because I thought you could get us out of here and you could help us but you don't have any answers. You're just a man-child with jam on his fingers." He dropped the jam jar on the table.

"Okay." Kai mumbled. "To get home we'll harness the power of the eclipse using a mystical relic. It's called an ascendant. And it looks like this, Damon." He held up the replica he made with the objects he had told Bonnie to get."The last time we had it, it was in the Pacific Northwest. Oregon."

"We?" Bonnie asked with her arms crossed.

"It belonged to my family." He answered. "So here's a little blood to get you started." He cut the tip of his finger with the pocket knife. "Now all we need is a locator spell to pinpoint it's whereabouts."

They both turned and looked at me and Bonnie. "Think you guys can find our ticket out of here?"

Bonnie looked over at me with a smirk. "Hell. Yea."
