Kai and I practicing magic has been a huge success. He's been teaching me, and I know so much more than when I first arrived and now I'm so much more powerful.

However, he's still been taking my magic from now and then.

I don't really know what I was expecting though. I just thought things would change ever since we kissed in the car. Maybe he didn't have feelings for me but I feel like there's another side to the story

I woke up to the smell of pancakes and whistling. I had a slight headache but it was bearable.

I groaned and got out Damon's bed going downstairs to see Kai in the kitchen.

"Morning sleeping beauty. I made breakfast.. for me of course." He grinned with a wink.

I rolled my eyes to cover the fact that my heart was racing from his actions. "Wow, Kai you are so sweet."

"Thanks, I know." He sat down before talking again. "I need you to go to the store and get everything off this list." He handed me a piece of paper.

"Why don't you go with me?" I asked, confused and took the paper mentally reading off some of the things he put on it.

"Because I found a way to get the hell out of this place and I need to stay here and find out if it's going to work."

My eyes widened and a smile appeared on my face. "You mean we're finally gonna leave this hell?!"

"Don't get your hopes up just yet. I don't know if it'll work." He said as he stuck a piece of pancake into his mouth.

I walked over to him and put both my hands on each side of his face, making him stare directly into my eyes.

"Do you think your idea to escape this place will genuinely work? Answer me honestly." I compelled him.

"I think it'll work but I don't think either one of us are strong enough to do the spell unless we do it together." He spoke honestly just as I had compelled him to.

"So let's do it together then." I shrugged.

"You're not strong enough." He said.

My smiled faded as I let go of his face and looked down sadly.

He blinked a few times before realizing what I did.

"You compelled me. Naughty girl." He shook his head with an evil grin.

"I didn't want you to give me false hope if I would've just asked you regularly." I whispered sadly.

He looked at me sadly but changed his expression when he noticed that I saw his remorse. He cleared his throat. "I'll figure out a way to get out of here, just go to the store alright." He said harshly and left the table.

I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.

...

I stepped into the store and walked through the aisles searching for the things Kai had told me to get.

I realized how hungry I was when my stomach growled. But not for food. For blood.

I took a deep breath but fought the hunger and got the stupid items. I passed a shelf with pork rinds and took the bag. It was no breakfast but it was something.

I was ready to leave when I picked up voices from the other aisle.

I focused on the voices that were speaking. Was I actually losing my sanity or was someone here?!

"Pork Rinds." A girl's voice said.

"Not on the list, and ew." A male's voice followed after hers.
