"You're in a good mood for the first time in this decade." Bonnie teased as we walked through the woods.

"Stop that." I snapped at Damon as he kept poking me with a stick he found.

"I have a hot date with my girl tonight." He smirked, biting his lip.

"Yeah, assuming Kai's telling the truth." Bonnie chimed in.

"-I'm thinking dinner and a movie. You know what? Screw the dinner and the movie, skip straight to the good part." He poked me again.

I turned around and grabbed his stick, breaking it in half before continuing to walk with Bonnie.

"Yeah, and assuming we can do the spell, which we won't know until we see it." Bonnie said, not noticing me and Damon.

"What ever happened to hope, Bonnie?" I asked her.

"Nayeli's right. Remember how I was all like, boo, grr. And you were all 'Hooray, Hooray! We're getting out of here!'" He mimicked Bonnie in a high pitched tone.

"Look, I wanna go home more than anything." She looked over at us. "But Kai's a sociopath. Who's to say he won't screw us over?"

"Me. I say." Damon answered. "Because I will kill Kai and anyone who comes in the way of me getting home."

"Agreed." I sighed. "Well, I'm not killing Kai. I'm a good person." I smiled innocently.

"That's a load of crap. You have a thing for him. Maybe your type is homicidal murderers." Bonnie commented with a smirk.

"Okay, I do not have a thing for Kai! Or a thing for homicidal murderers." I argued.

"Yea, Bon. She did date Stefan after all." Damon chimed in.

"You dated Stefan?" Bonnie asked surprised.

"It was a long time ago." I rolled my eyes.

"Are you kidding? Stefan was her first love."

"That's enough Damon."

"I heard my name." Kai came out of nowhere. "All good things I hope."

Bonnie looked at him uneasily.

He held up the ascendant. "The eclipse will happen directly overhead." He looked at us with a smile. "In perfect alignment with the Gemini Constellation. You need to dig a tunnel below us. We'll do the spell there." Kai looked over at Damon.

"Why?" Bonnie questioned.

"Have you never portal jumped through an eclipse before?" Kai asked with a fake shocked look on his face. "Okay, look, the light of the eclipse will shine down and activate the ascendant. You two spout a little witchy woo and then poof.. anyone standing in the circle of light holding the ascendant goes home." He explained.

"By 'witchy woo' I assume you mean the spell- let us see it." Bonnie demanded.

"When the time comes." He grinned, walking past the three of us.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"Into town. I need to gather some important supplies." He responded before walking off, whistling without a care in the world.

...

I sat next to Bonnie on the dirt as we watched Damon dig the hole Kai had told him to.

"Hey." She called out to him. "You know there's a very probable chance you're digging your own grave and.. not bothered. " She shrugged.

I rolled my eyes at her as Damon took one last hit on the ground, finding the cave we needed.

"Looks like I got back just in time." Kai smiled with a backpack thrown on his shoulder.
