* Theo's POV *

I almost forgot that I had work today. I didn't have much homework to finish so I didn't worry to much about it. I dropped my stuff of on the bed and grabbed my work bag from the closet. It had my work clothes in it.

I worked at a small cafe and bakery. The uniform was just a plain white T-shirt with black pants. And of course, a black hat and nametag. I enjoyed this job, mostly because of the smell of the sweets.

One of my mother's close friends hooked me up with this job when I arrived. The pay wasn't too bad but I enjoyed it. I actually made friends with my co-workers too. They are nice people. I changed shifts, from waiter to prepping and then to cashier. Today, I was working in the back, prepping the cakes and pies.

I was getting my paycheck at the end of the week. Hopefully it'll be over $400 because I worked a lot of doubles last week. That would at least help pay most of the rent. No money left over for me but I didn't need it.

People came in and out and bought more and more sweets. But I didn't mind, I wanted to spend all my time here. But before I knew it, my shift was over. I looked down at my watch. 9:36. Instead of going straight home, I helped close. There was nobody waiting for me so I had enough time.

We closed up well and then I was forced to go home when they pushed me out of the shop. I got in my car and drove back to my apartment. I took the elevator up and when I walked into my room, I decided to go ahead and finish my homework. It didn't take very long. Just a read and fill it out type of worksheet.

Afterwards, I went and took a shower. I finished up brushing my teeth and walked around the apartment, turning off the lights. My apartment wasn't very big. It had all I really needed so it was enough for me. I just hope my roommate will like it.

I went to my room and crawled under the sheets, turning off the lamp. I laid down and fell asleep a few minutes later.

I can't believe it's already Wednesday. One and a half weeks back in my home town. I woke up early that day so I sat down and watched some Netflix on the couch while finishing up my breakfast.

I finished my episode and shut the laptop. I put my dish in the sink and put the laptop on the bed. I put my backpack on and grabbed my things. I turned and looked at the apartment.

There's two choices. One, this apartment will be filled with someone else's belongings and a new person. Or the apartment will be empty and nobody will be in here.

I needed to figure out a backup plan. If this roommate thing doesn't work out, then I need something else. Mia suggested for me to move back. Of course she'd want that. She cried when I told her I was going to move back. 'Why would you want to go back, Theo?'

I walked out of the apartment and went downstairs. Shirley wasn't behind the counter. I shrugged and walked out. A woman passed by me with a dog by her side. I smiled when the dog came close to me.

"May I?" I asked, gesturing to the dog.

She looked at me and smiled. "Go ahead." It was a big golden retriever.. I reached down to pet it and it licked my hand. I scratched behind its ear and leaned back up.

"Thank you." I said, walking off. She nodded and kept walking. I may get a dog. A little company. I got in my car and started it. I made my way to school. It was 7:34 so I didn't rush. There were some people there, talking in groups. I got out of my car and locked it. I decided to spend my free time in the library. I walked through the school, passing by a few people who didn't even give me a second look. But I was used to it, I didn't mind.
