Chapter 31

* Theo's POV *

I scanned the lunchroom, trying to figure out where Calum may be. He was only ten minutes late but it worried me.

"Who are you looking for?" Gen asked, eating an apple that she brought from home in her blue and black polka dot lunchbox.

"Calum. Do you know where he is?" I asked, pushing my food away. She was sitting beside me and Sammy was sitting in front of me.

"Nope." She said, taking another bite of her apple.

She was in all of my classes. We talked a lot and I've gotten to know her more. She said she moved from California with her two older brothers and single mom. She also has a cat named Cookie and a dog named Kate. She said that she moved because her dad divorced her mom and he left them and her mom didn't want to live there anymore and that she wanted a 'new environment'. She's actually really confident and independent because of her father.

I decided to stop worrying and talk to her and Sammy. Maybe he had to make up a test or something.

Sammy was actually eating the school lunch. It was cheese sticks with some other things. The school food isn't too terrible but I wasn't in the mood to eat right now. "So, Gen, I forgot what your brothers names were."

Gen laughed and she looked up at Sammy. "Tyler and Clay."

"I have a sister named Mia." I joined in.

"I love my siblings." Gen said, smiling.

Me and Sammy laughed. "I don't have siblings and that was still too funny."

"I know right." I shook my head, still laughing. "I mean, I love Mia but damn she can get on your nerves."

"I bet she's amazing and you're just being a big butthole." Gen said.

"Sure sure."

"I met Mia on video chat. She's pretty cool." Sammy said, smiling. She took another bite of the bread sticks.

I shook my head. "Nope."

"I bet she is." Gen said, nudging me.

I looked over at her and she smiled at me. She stared at me for a little longer and I blushed a little and looked away.

"Where is Nick and Calum?" Sammy asked, looking around.

I shrugged. "No clue."

Ten more minutes till we leave. He should be back by art.

Gen stood up and went to throw her trash away. "What time are y'all picking up Louie?" Sammy asked, finishing her food.

"Don't know. Calum is going to do it."

Gen came back and sat down beside me. "Who's Louie?" She asked, putting her lunchbox on top of her binder.

"They're getting a dog. German shepherd."

She squealed. "Really? I have a German shepherd!" She said ,grabbing my arm.

I laughed. "Woah! So cool!" I said sarcastically.

She held onto my arms and she scooted a little closer. "We need to have a doggy play date. She's friendly!"

"We do! It's going to be fabulous." I said sarcastically again.

She crossed her arms over her chest. "Don't patronize me, Theo!"

I laughed. "A doggy play date?" I teased. Sammy laughed from the other side of the table.
