"Lapis Lazuli. Nice to meet you. You must be that Sapphire who doesn't beli--" Lapis's sentence was interrupted when Ruby nudged her in the stomach.
"What was that for?"
"So, Sapphire, I'm sorry for leaving you back at the facility. I just felt like going for a walk," Ruby lied.
"You are forgiven. I see you met somebody during your walk," Sapphire said, emotionlessly. Amethyst was in the background listening. She could tell Sapphire was annoyed, despite her emotionless face.
"Hm, your Sapphire isn't strict. Someone's lucky," Lapis commented.
"Yeah, Sapphire is pretty amazing," Ruby smiled, proudly. Sapphire kept her emotionless face, but that didn't stop the blush slowly forming on her face. Amethyst noticed this and started snickering silently.
"Alright, I'm gonna go. See you later, Rubes! We could hang out tomorrow if you want," Lapis said as she started walked backward.
"Sure, I would like that. Bye Lapis!" Ruby waved at Lapis. When she turned around and saw Sapphire's rather annoyed face, her pupils shrunk.
"Ruby, we need to talk," Sapphire sternly said.
"This can't be good," Ruby mumbled under her breath.
"Ooh, this is going to get good! I need to see what happens," Amethyst exclaimed.
Sapphire grabbed Ruby's wrist, dragging her inside the sanctuary. Amethyst followed after them, wanting to see what they were going to talk about.
"Hey, hey...what's wrong?" Ruby asked.
"Well, first you disappear without any warning, leaving me alone at the facility. You could've at least told me you were leaving. Then, once you come back, you are with some complete, random stranger. Hmm, I don't see what's wrong at all," Sapphire sarcastically noted.
"I apologize for that, but you were with Jasper. You weren't alone. The complete and random stranger is Lapis. What's wrong with Lapis? She seems nice. What is there to be concerned about," Ruby asked, tilting her head.
"Jealousy is what's wrong, jealousy is what's there to be concerned about," Amethyst mumbled under her breath.
"Oh, Lapis! I don't about you, but Lapis seems a bit...suspicious to me," Sapphire said.
Ruby, Sapphire, and Amethyst started heading up the stairs.
"I honestly thought so too when I first saw her, but I really doubt she means any harm. Lapis is really nice," Ruby chuckled. Amethyst glanced at Sapphire. She could tell Sapphire wasn't pleased with Ruby talking about Lapis at all.
The three gems reached Ruby's room.
"Was there a reason for you three to follow me," Ruby jested.
"Nah, I just followed to be nosy," Amethyst shrugged.
Ruby opened the door to her room, stepping through the door, not completely entering it yet. She turned around so she could look at Amethyst and Sapphire.
"Actually there is a reason to why I followed you. It's about Lapis. I don't think you should talk to her anymore," Sapphire stated.
Ruby stood still for a second before turning around, facing Sapphire. She squinted her eyes and her fingers curled into a fist.
"What? What do you mean I shouldn't talk to Lapis anymore?" Ruby questioned, suspiciously.
"Well, I mean we both find Lapis suspicious in a sort of way. I feel like you shouldn't talk to her just to keep you safe from getting into trouble!" Sapphire smiled but seeing Ruby's angered yet bewildered expression, the smile vanished.
