"So, you are really going on a date with..." Ruby gulped. "J-Jasper?"
"Oh, it's not like something bad will happen. Why are you so worried?" Sapphire asked.
Ruby watched her as Sapphire paced around her room, looking for her sketch book.
"Well, it's just going to be the two of you...alone, and something bad can and will happen but...nevermind," Ruby sighed.
"You're just being paranoid," Sapphire commented.
Ruby shrugged. "Maybe I am, but it's because I am right."
Sapphire traveled a little farther past her room where blue stones were gathered.
"Ha! I found it," Sapphire yelled out.
She picked up the notebook from under a blue stone and blew the dust off of it. She started flipping through the pages. Ruby tried to peak at what Sapphire was looking for, but Sapphire pushed her away. She waved her finger in front of Ruby's face.
"Nope, it's a surprise!" Sapphire chimed.
Ruby gave an annoyed face and sat back down in her chair. She watched Sapphire flip through the pages. Sapphire's face lit up.
"Yes! This dress is perfect," Sapphire exclaimed, jumping up with joy.
Ruby loved seeing Sapphire happy. Her smile and joy made her happy, but in this situation, all it did was annoy her. She had to deal with the thought that Sapphire was only this happy around Jasper, which wasn't true at all. Sapphire placed her sketchbook down and went behind her three-panel divider.
"Don't look! I'm going to change," Sapphire said.
"But, we're gems. We can just flash our clothes on," Ruby pointed out.
"Yeah, but then my outfit wouldn't be a surprise for you and your opinion on it will be different," Sapphire explained.
Ruby rolled her eyes, "I still don't see your point. Your body will still be covered."
"Look away," Sapphire demanded.
Ruby sighed, rolling her eyes again and turning away.
"Thank you!" Sapphire sang.
"I still can't see why you are going on a date with Jasper," Ruby mumbled.
"Ruby," Sapphire began. She examined the sketched dress on her notebook.
"It's just something entirely new. You act as if she's going to beat me up or something," Sapphire chuckled.
'Why is she taking this as a joke?' Ruby thought to herself.
"Can you give me my hair tie?" Sapphire asked.
Ruby reached for a black hair tie on Sapphire's floor. "This one?"
Sapphire stood on her tiptoes and looked over the three-panel divider. She nodded, reaching her hand out for it. Ruby placed it in her hand, brushing her cold hand, lightly.
"We haven't had a normal conversation for a while. Why don't you just stay here and talk to me?" Ruby suggested, smiling.
"I can't flake out on Jasper at last minute, just like that. That's rude," Sapphire protested.
She took her hair and wrapped around in a ponytail. She combed her bangs over her eye and smiled into her mirror. She grabbed her lip balm and carefully applied some to her lips.
"Alright, I'm done," Sapphire moved her divider to the side.
Her dress looked a lot more comfortable than her normal one. It was less poofy and it still covered her feet. Though, the dress wasn't layered underneath making it a lot easier to walk. The bodice was dark blue and wrapped around Sapphire's chest as if it was made for her. The bodice had a light blue diamond on it, which was cut off by a black belt tied around her waist. The skirt had the remaining of the diamond on it. Two half circles went from the bottom of the diamond to her belt on each side. A small white stripe decorated the bottom of the dress. Sapphire's hair was in a neat ponytail, despite her bangs being slightly messy.
