Ruby took a deep breath. She was hoping it wasn't the Jasper that she knew and hated with all her might.
"Uh, J-Jasper?" She asked.
"Yes, her name is Jasper. She's really sweet," Sapphire began. Ruby chuckled nervously, hiding her anger, possibly jealousy, that was trickling up her throat.
Sapphire continued, "I accidently bumped into her. She offered to walk me to Rose's sanctuary. Oh, Rose told me to tell you hi. Anyways, Jasper--"
"Wait! Can-can you p-please describe this Jasper to me?" Ruby asked, interrupting Sapphire's sentence.
"Um, she's really tall and buff. She has orange...stripes around parts of her skin. Long, light orange hair. Why? Do you already know her?" Sapphire questioned.
Ruby started to get frustrated. "Yeah, yeah! A lot of Jaspers look like that! Where is her gem located?"
"Nose."
"Shape?"
Sapphire rested her right arm on her left elbow, placing a finger on her chin as a way to show she was thinking.
"Isosceles rhombus?" Sapphire said, more like she was asking a question than an answer.
Ruby's eyes widened. Her eyes became full of worry and panic along with a huge flame of anger. Anger that's been held in for too long.
"No...no," fretted Ruby, backing away slowly.
She sat down placing her hands on her knees and huffed. Sapphire placed a hand on Ruby's shoulder. She was burning up, not like Sapphire cared. She sat down next to her, worried.
"R-Ruby...what's the matter?" Sapphire asked. Ruby looked at Sapphire. Ruby gently wiped Sapphire's hand off her shoulder.
"Look, I don't like Jasper...at all. She did something really bad and..." Ruby's voice trailed off.
"J-just, don't talk to her!" She shouted out of nowhere.
"Why not? Jasper is really nice. Why would she do something harmful?" Sapphire demurred, completely clueless of Jasper's true nature.
Getting more irritated, Ruby rose her voice, "Sapphire, you have to believe me when I tell you, you can't trust Jasper!"
"But why? You don't even know her," Sapphire surmised.
"I don-- No! You don't know her Sapphire!" Ruby shouted. Smoke started to rise from her feet. All her unexpressed anger was finally being released, though Sapphire kept hers in.
"What do you know about Jasper? You can't even tell me why she's atrocious," Sapphire rose her voice up a bit as well, but not loud enough for it to be considered yelling.
Ruby balled up her fists and her body trembled.
"Maybe I don't want to tell you because she did something so tragic and I don't want to remember that tragic memory because of what it has made me!" Ruby yelled. The smoke stopped and tears were streaming down Ruby's cheeks.
"Ruby..." Sapphire whimpered, wiping a tear away from Ruby's face.
Sapphire was about to say something else but was interrupted by a knock at the door. Ruby swiftly wiped her tears away with her arm and went to open the door.
"Ruby, stop!" Sapphire demanded, but Ruby paid no attention. She looked through the window of the door.
She panicked and turned to face Sapphire.
"It's Holly Blue Agate," she whispered-screamed.
"Oh, my stars! Open the door. Act like you are supposed so we don't get in trouble," commanded Sapphire. Ruby nodded, understanding.
She opened the door.
"Oh, it's just you," Holly Blue scowled seeing Ruby's face.
"Yeah, yeah I hate-- I mean, what's your reason for coming to my Sapphire's sanctuary?" Ruby asked.
