"And that is why I'd make a great girlfriend," Ruby exclaimed, standing confidently. She smiled as she placed her fists on her hips. One of her eyes flew open and she stared at the blue gemstone wrapped in a small, red blanket.

Ruby frowned and sighed. "I have a problem," she said to herself.

She bent her knees a bit so her eyes were at the height of the table.

She poked Sapphire's gemstone. "You've been gone for two days, Sapphy. What are you even doing in there?" Ruby asked, tilting her head.

No response.

"I've been talking to you for 2 days straight. I even confessed my feelings for you...uh, sort of. I'm so bored. I have nobody to talk to since Rose has been busy with missions. You know that I don't like Pearl. Amethyst is just going to tease me about stuff like..." Ruby's voice trailed off.
"Talking to Amethyst would be better than talking to your gemstone. I want to talk to the real you. Not just something that's a part of you," Ruby mumbled.

Ruby gently took Sapphire's gemstone in her hand. She left the room, that was only supposed to be used for meetings, and started her way to the front door. She opened the door and poked her head out.

"Amethyst," she whispered.

Amethyst looked up at her.

Ruby motioned her to come inside. Amethyst shrugged as she stepped into the door. Ruby placed Sapphire's gem down on a table next to a pillar.

"What were you doing that you need to talk about?" Amethyst asked Ruby as soon as the door closed.

"I, uh...this m-may sound w-weird because i-it is! I-I've b-been talking....to S-Sapphire's, um..uh, gemstone," Ruby stammered.

Amethyst tried to contain her laugh. She smirked and covered her mouth. "What were you even talking to her about," she questioned.

"Thoughts, feelings...thoughts and feelings," Ruby said. "I may or may not have been practicing telling her my feelings for her," Ruby confessed.

Amethyst started snickering. "Look, I'd be glad to help you confess your feelings for Sapphire despite how obvious your feelings for her are," Amethyst insisted.

"Really, is it that obvious?" Ruby asked.

"Obvious to be seen, yes. It's like one of those types of obvious where you are kind of doubtful, but at the same time there's plenty of evidence," explained Amethyst.
"Anyways, let's start! I'm going to pretend to be Sapphire, and you just blurt out your feelings!"

"Wait, I don't think this such a good idea!"

Before Amethyst could reply to Ruby, she had shapeshifted into Sapphire. She looked exactly like Sapphire excluding the fact that there was a gem on her chest and that she was purple.

"Uh, this is making me slightly uncomfortable," commented Ruby.

"Just go with it before you make it awkward," Amethyst whispered-screamed.

"I already made this awkward," Ruby said.

Amethyst sighed, "c'mon! I can't keep this form forever!"

"Alright, alright!" Ruby took a deep breath.

"Okay, uhm...my Sapphire. I...I really want to let you know that I like you. And, no, not as a friend. I mean, I romantically like you. I don't know why. It just kind of happened. I've gotten to know you well enough to know that you're loving, caring, and sweet...and especially really, really beautiful. I really love everything about you. I just want you to be safe but at the same time to be happy. I want to be the one to make you happy! I...I don't like you, Sapphire! I love you!" Ruby blurted out.
