Sapphire had bumped into a Jasper, causing her to almost fall to the floor. She looked up and she could only see gem lighting in her shadow. Her gem was in a shape of a rhombus.
This Jasper was intimidating and large unlike other Jasper's. Yes, most Jasper's were enormous and intimidating, but this one seemed even more frightening than most Jasper's. What made it worse was that Sapphire only reached the height of her hips, nowhere near her face.
Sapphire was starting to wish she didn't leave Ruby behind. Being by Ruby's side made her feel protected. To hide her uneasiness, she kept an emotionless face.
Jasper growled when she felt a small pain in her leg when Sapphire bumped into her.
"Which puny, worthless gem has the nerve to bump into the ultimate quartz? Better not be that dumb, overcooked, runt. Or that weak, idiotic Ru--" Jasper stopped talking when she looked down to find that the puny, worthless gem was an important, rare, aristocratic gem.
Sapphire tilted her head at Jasper's unfinished sentence.
Her yellow eyes widened and she quickly kneeled to the ground, into a bowing position. Sapphire backed away. She was surprised by her sudden move.
"I'm so sorry for speaking to you in a rude manner, my Sapphire," Jasper apologized.
Sapphire shuttered at what Jasper just called her. 'My Sapphire.' She was so used to hear that come out Ruby's mouth. It could've been that or the fact that Sapphire couldn't get Ruby out her head at all.
"There is no use thinking about the past. Besides, I'm fine and you're fine, that's all that matters," asserted Sapphire, calmly.
"My clarity, you are too kind. I shouldn't be treated like that by such an important gem." Jasper looked around. "Where is your guard? Do you even have a guard?" Jasper smiled at Sapphire.
"I do, but I decided it was best for her to stay home since I have to meet another gem privately," explained Sapphire. She was starting to wonder what Ruby was doing back at the sanctuary.
"I at least have to walk you to the sanctuary. A beautiful Sapphire like you shouldn't be out here alone," Jasper remarked.
Sapphire couldn't lie, she was flattered. "You don't have to. The sanctuary isn't that far from here. It was nice having a small chat with you. I'll see you around," Sapphire started to walk away.
Jasper smirked, "and how do you know you'll see me again?"
Sapphire pointed to her bangs and smiled, "future vision!"
After a few minutes of walking, Sapphire finally arrived at Rose's sanctuary. She softly knocked on the door.
Pearl opened the door. "Oh! Hello Sapphire," Pearl said, gracefully. She looked around and behind Sapphire.
"Did you take my advice about owning a Ruby guard?" Pearl asked.
"I did. She's at my sanctuary, talking to Amethyst outside," Sapphire said. She foresaw Pearl asking and used her future vision to see what Ruby was doing. Sapphire walked into the sanctuary and saw Rose was already waiting for her.
"Ah, Sapphire! Finally, you're here! I have exciting news," Rose exclaimed, walking up to Sapphire.
Rose bent down, a pink ringlet of hair sliding down her shoulder. so she could take Sapphire's hands in hers and look into her bangs. "Sapphire, if you don't mind, can you please remove your hair away from your eye?" Rose asked.
Sapphire nodded. She was comfortable with revealing her eye to Rose and Pearl since they already know how it looks.
Sapphire hesitantly parted her bangs so her single, blue eye was revealed.
"This must be important," Sapphire said, mostly to herself than to Rose.
