Valentines request by @Tacoezz

"School dances are stupid" Johnny spoke up out of nowhere. We were just sitting around in front of the shop building doing absolutely nothing.

"Why do you think they're stupid?" I raised a brow and glanced in his direction. Me and Johnny were friends, but lately it's become more than that. Or so I thought. We've been hardcore flirting for a while now, so why wouldn't I think there was more to it?

"I don't know. Just gettin dressed up and watchin half the school get wasted, it's a waste of time and just pointless." He stared at the sky, just speaking out exactly how he felt.

"I was thinking about going..." His head almost instantly snapped towards me.

"With who?" He almost sounded offended.

I sighed, "well if you aren't gonna go, then I'll have to find someone else I suppose."

"Find someone else?!" He stood up off the ground, obviously pissed off, "yeah, you do that then." He stomped away.

Ricky laughed as he passed me, "somebody struck a nerve."

"Shut up" I mumbled, walking back towards the dorms.

What else was I suppose to say, 'no it's not stupid, you're taking me.' No. We weren't together, and he hadn't even asked me to be his valentine so why was he so damn upset?

I turned around, deciding to go find Johnny and apologize. Even if we weren't a thing, I do like him and don't want to be on bad terms.

I walked past the fountain and down the stairs to the greaser hangout. Before I even got past the entry, I saw Johnny leaned up against it, flirting with Christy.

Was he purposefully trying to make me jealous? Why else would he be in the open like that?

Wait. He doesn't even like Christy...

I laughed, "nice try Johnny."

He turned completely towards me, dropping his conversation with her.

He raised a brow, "what do you mean?"

I approached him and Christy walked off.

I smiled, "I know you don't like her. You think she's an idiot and a whore. And yes, I pay attention to your rambling."

Johnny grinned, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, "I didn't think you paid attention... This is embarrassing."

I laughed, "me catching your bluff? Yeah, it kinda is."

"I'm sorry okay. I really like you and if a dance means that much to you, then I'll take ya." He looked at me apologetically.

I smiled sweetly, "thanks Johnny but if you aren't going to enjoy yourself, there isn't really a point..."

He stepped closer, placing his hands on my waist with a smirk, "why wouldn't I enjoy myself? I'll be with you."

I pulled him in for a hug, wrapping my arms around his neck and whispered, "you're so sweet." I pulled back, resting my arms on his shoulders and looking into his eyes, "we can compromise because I don't want you to be miserable. How about we go to the dance for an hour, then do whatever else the rest of the night."

He smirked, "whatever else?"

I scowled, "you know what I mean."

"I know I know," he chuckled then pulled me in for a tight hug, softly kissing my forehead, "happy Valentine's Day beautiful."

"Happy Valentine's Day." I mumbled, smiling into his chest, happy that things were finally clarified. Even happier that he felt the same way.
