"Hey gorgeous" I smiled to myself, instantly recognizing the voice that sounded behind me.
"Hello" I blushed, turning around to see Jimmy come to a stop in front of me. I had just exited the general store in Old Bullworth Vale from a trip for spray paint. A necessity when you're a vandal like myself.
He placed a sweet kiss on my lips, "this is gonna sound a bit sketchy, but trust me, okay?"
I nodded, watching as he pulled a blindfold from his pants pocket, "put this on." He held it out in front of him.
I raised a brow suspiciously, "you're serious?" He rolled his eyes playfully and walked behind me, tying the fabric himself.
He walked to my side, latching his arm to mine and guiding me.
I tried my hardest to recognize the steps we were taking and to where but eventually lost track, seeing he had me take unnecessary turns and walk in circles here and there.
He was leading the way in front of me, both of my hands in his, which were behind his back.
"Are all of these random circles necessary? I have no clue where we are anymore" I giggled at his determination to throw me off guard.
"Alright, alright. But be careful right here, we're going down some steps." He started walking slower as I carefully followed him down a few steps.
Jimmy never was one to try and surprise me like this. With flowers and chocolates maybe, but never a date. Not once in the entire year that we were together.
He was usually pretty forward about dates. He never called them dates either. It was more of handing me a gift and saying 'hey, let's go to the carnival' or 'get up, I'm taking you to go see a movie'. Never very romantic like he was attempting this time.
"Do I hear water?" I smiled, knowing Jimmy would get mad that I was trying to find out where we were. Like I wouldn't know I was walking on sand either?
"Stop that Y/n. I'm trying to surprise you for fucks sake" he sounded annoyed.
I sighed, suppressing a laugh from his frustration, "sorry."
He came to a stop, letting go of my hands. Before I could say anything, I was lifted off of the ground, bridal style. I let out a short, startled scream before interpreting what had happened.
"Don't scare me like that Jimmy." I groaned, holding tightly onto his neck. He just laughed at me as he started climbing up a ramp like surface.
I heard a door open before Jimmy stepped inside, setting me down.
He wrapped his arms around my waist from behind before his voice sounded, just above a whisper in my ear "now I know I'm not the most romantic guy and all, but I wanted to show how much I love and appreciate you."
He pulled the blindfold off of me to reveal the beach house with a makeshift table in the middle with a small candlelit dinner. The windows were open to show the now setting sun and lit candles were scattered around the room.
I turned around in his arms, instantly connecting our lips as I wrapped my arms loosely around his shoulders.
"You're so sweet Jimmy, it's beautiful" I smiled at him lovingly as we parted.
"Okay okay, one more sappy thing before I end up turning into a girl," he smirked, trying to suppress a grin, "this past year with you has been the greatest of my life so far... And I dunno, I just never want this to end." A blush swept over his face and I smiled.
"I love you so much Jimmy Hopkins" a tear escaped my eye and I hugged him tightly.
"I love you more than you can imagine" he kissed my forehead before walking towards the table, pulling my chair out for me.
"Now shall we?"
"We shall" I dorkily smiled as I sat down. Jimmy soon sitting across from me.
"Here's to another great year together" Jimmy held up a Beam Cola to toast, me soon doing the same.
I laughed as we set our cans down. He truly was one of a kind.
