"Is this right?" Russell's deep voice sounded through the room as he shoved his homework towards me.

He was struggling in, well, every class and had asked me for help. Of course I'd agreed to, we'd gotten considerably close over the school year.

I've even helped with his English, so now he didn't refer to himself in third person. A small difference, but definitely an improvement.

Everyone talked to him like a child, but I thought that was ridiculous. It seemed I was the only one who even tried to understand him, and after a few months span, I did.

He was just misunderstood and no one even bothered to dig deep enough to notice, but I did and we've been inseparable since.

I slowly sat up from his bed, swinging my feet over the side and walking over to him.

My eyebrows knitted together as I scanned over the paper. He stared intently at my face as I did so, making my cheeks heat up.

"Okay, you're actually getting the hang of it, but there's just one problem, you divide here, not multiply" I pointed out his mistake on the thin sheet.

His elbows hit the table as he covered his face with his hands in frustration, "I'm stupid!" He exclaimed hopelessly.

I gently pulled on his right arm, knowing I wouldn't have the strength to pull him towards me. He understood what I wanted, lifting his arms from the desk and rotating in his chair to face me.

My hand never left his wrist, just moving to interlock with his. I took his other hand in mine as well, frowning at him.

"You're not stupid Russell, you just have to study to understand." He looked down, avoiding my eyes.

"Can we take a break now?" He looked back up at me hopefully, as if I controlled his actions.

"Of course" I smiled at him sweetly, letting go of my hold on his hands, him letting go a second later. I moved out of his way, him towering over me as he stood up.

He smiled down at me mischievously, I raised a brow but before I could question him, I was thrown over his shoulder. It happened unbelievably fast, as if I was as light as a feather.

"Russell?! What the hell are you doing?!" He chuckled and just shushed me.

I stopped struggling the second I realized it was hopeless.

I panicked a bit when he started going down the stairs, but I quickly shut my eyes to avoid freaking out and causing us to fall.

Once we'd gotten to the living room, stopping in front of the couch, he finally set me down. I sighed, turning my back to him to see where we'd ended up since I couldn't during that wonderful trip. My relief was short lived when I was pulled down towards to couch.

I tensed up once I'd realized he'd pulled me onto his lap. He wrapped his large arms around my waist, causing me to fall back against his chest.

"Russell... What are you doing?" I questioned nervously.

"Holding you" he stated simply as he buried his face in the crook of my neck.

"Yeah, but why?"

"I like you," He spoke his mind with no hesitation.

My mind started racing as my heart rate sped up, "you like me? What do you mean?" I didn't know what else to say to him.

"You make me happy. You're pretty and smart and nice."

I pulled at his arms, having him loosen his grip enough for me to turn, sitting on his lap sideways.

I smiled at him sweetly, looking into his eyes, "really?"

He just grinned with a nod. I leaned over, placing a kiss on his cheek.

He was finally affected by the situation as a blush crept over his face. He cupped my cheek in his right hand before quickly placing his lips on mine.

Despite how rushed he'd made it seem, it was a sweet kiss.

I pulled back in desperate need for air and smiled to myself, staring at my lap with my face burning from both shock and happiness.

Russell's tight embrace on my waist returned, causing me to rest my head on his chest since I was pinned to him.

"I love you Y/n" He whispered before kissing my forehead.

"I love you too Russell" I stated sincerely, tracing circles on his chest.

He rested his head on mine and yawned. I smiled to myself, content from this sudden change in relationship.

Despite what everyone thought of Russell, he's a great guy and I've truly come to love him.
