Pushing the claws further open, you are confronted with a gruesome sight.
Laying squashed in the dragon's hand is a mostly-decomposed cadaver, human from the looks of it. Only his helmet is still intact. He had been armed with a staff, which now lies broken into splinters with him. Recoiling from the smell, you pick up a piece of cloth from his armor, upon which you can still see the sigil of his lord:
As you prepare to stand up again, your eye is drawn to the tip of the largest claw.
Hanging from it is a tuft of brown fur. You pick it up and do an Intelligence test, casting one dice for a result of 5 or 6, or getting a random number of 5 or 6 from a 1-6 draw.
If you fail, you pocket the tuft of fur and will ask someone later what they think it is. Go back to Chapter Nine and finish it.
If you manage, go to Appendix 8.
