Chapter Fifty-Five

You step out of the bedroom after the two ladies, and a scream rings out.

There are two guards blocking the way, drawn by the noise you made when you kicked down the door. One has thrown Kuan Yin to the ground, the other has slammed Mei Mei against the wall.

Choose which guard you wish to attack first, considering the following:

Kuan Yin and Mei Mei both have 3 life points.

If you attack Kuan Yin's guard, each time your dice roll 1-4, Mei Mei will take 1 point of damage.

If you attack Mei Mei's guard, each time your dice roll 1-8, Kuan Yin will take 0.5 point of damage.

Once the first guard is dead, you can move on to the second normally.

Combat:

KUAN YIN'S GUARD

Life points: 3
Weapon: sword.

Dice rolls: throw two dice - get a random number from a 1-12 draw.
1 to 4 : you fail your attack and the man strikes back. Lose 1 life point.
5 to 7 : the man blocks your attack.
8 to 12 : your attack carries. The man loses 1 life point.
Repeat until one of you is dead.

If you kill him, move on to the second guard.
If you die, go to the Very Last Part.

MEI MEI'S GUARD

Life points: 3

Weapon: sword

Dice rolls: throw two dice - get a random number from a 1-12 draw.
1 to 4 : you fail your attack and the man strikes back. Lose 1 life point.
5 to 7 : the man blocks your attack.
8 to 12 : your attack carries. The man loses 1 life point.
Repeat until one of you is dead.

If you die, go to the Very Last Part.

If you survive, the ladies run off quickly, leaving you to make your way to the tiny room ahead, alone. Go to Chapter Fifty.
