Your keen mind decides you have all you need to try and get the hell out of here quickly.

You overturn the cot and manage to break off a wooden leg of it, then you grab the flimsy cotton blanket and dunk it into the water pail. Once it's soaked up all the water that was left, you twist it just tight enough, keeping the water in, and you wrap it around the two bars in the window. Then you wrap the ends of it around the cot leg and you begin twisting and twisting, using the leg as a lever. The cloth tightens and tightens around the bars, the water dripping but still solidifying the whole contraption. The bars begin to creak against their socket.

Do a Strength test casting one dice or getting a random number from a 1-6 draw, for a result of 4 or more.

If you manage, the sockets give way and the bars break free from the window with a loud metallic clang. You can hear the guards moving in the other room; quickly you jump and squirm your way out of the window. Go to Chapter Twenty-Four.

If you fail, the bars prove too strong for you. Even with all your strength, there is nothing you can do to make them budge. You're going to have to try something else. To pretend you're sick and get the guard here, go to Chapter Thirty-Seven. To cause a ruckus and make the guard come to you, go to Chapter Thirty-Eight.
