Coming up the stairs, you enter a circular room. There are two doors: one across the room from you, and one to your left. Both are closed.
In the room are a table and a few stools, and the remains of a loaf of bread and a jug of ale. This is obviously the guards' room.
To go through the door on the left, go to Chapter Thirty-Nine.
To go through the door across from you, go to Chapter Forty.
