They're about twenty five in this, but the age doesn't really matter.
Will's POV
I stood motionless behind the camera, holding the handle to my cart of snacks as the lead actor of It's a Small World, Nico Di Angelo, broke up with his current girlfriend, who was being played by Reyna Avila Ramirez- Arellano. I watched as his dark brown eyes shone with pain as he broke up with the girl he had been dating for an entire season. It hurt me to see my crush in so much pain, even if the pain was fake.
"That's a wrap!" yelled Mr. Gomez, the director. Somewhere a bell rang, and the actors came off of the set, chatting happily about the final scene of the episode before it aired later that night. Reyna stopped by my cart, and wordlessly handed her a bag of sour cream and onion chips, her favorite. I had long since memorized the preferred snacks of the stars of the show. I waited for Nico to get off of the set while I handed the actors trickling off the set. Finally, the black haired boy walked off of the set, and I handed Nico his usual hazelnut iced coffee with as many cremes and sugars as I could fit into the medium plastic cup.
"Thanks," he said, and I felt my heart fill with joy. He was the only actor who ever said thank you.
"You know," he said. "You give me coffee every day, but I don't even know your name. What is it?"
"Oh, I- I'm Will," I stammered. I could feel my cheeks heat up.
"I'm Nico, but you probably knew that," he chuckled. We heard Mr. Gomez call his name, presumably wanting to talk about next week's episode, which was going to be very important, if the rumors on set were true. They were introducing the main character's new love interest. Nico gave me a small wave goodbye. "See you tomorrow, I guess."
"See you," I blushed. Clutching his coffee, Nico raced to the small crowd of actors crowded around Mr. Gomez.
Over the next hour and a half, the cast and crew trickled away into the bustling metropolis of four thirty L. A, leaving me to sweep up the leftover crumbs and spilled drinks around the set. Actors were surprisingly messy eaters. I had just thrown a half empty coffee cup into the trash can when I heard a footstep on the wooden floor planks behind me and I whirled around.
"Oh, sorry, did I scare you?" Nico asked. He had changed out of his wardrobe for the show and instead of his character's usual outfit of pressed jeans, nike sneakers and on brand shirts, he was wearing black skinny jeans, a baggy red sweatshirt and high top converse. He looked more himself in his own clothes.
"No, no," I responded, wiping my dirt covered hands on my hands. "What are you still doing here?"
"Looking through my lines for the next episode," he answered. "Do you have anything going on right now?"
"No, I just finished cleaning up. Why?"
"Well, I'm not busy and I was just wondering if you wanted to grab something to eat? There's this place I know of pretty close to here." Was this a date? I was pretty sure that Nico was straight but, then again, the gossip magazines couldn't pick up every aspect of his personal life.
"Yeah, I'm not busy," I said finally. Nico's face split into a smile, one that was real instead of pretend.
"Great, do you want to get going?" he asked.
"Sure, let's go," I said. We walked out the doors of the set together, and I was incredibly aware of his presence next to me. I was living my, as well as thousands of other people's, dreams, right now. As we walked, Nico chatted away happily about the show, talking endlessly about how excited he was for the next episode.
