The Hunger Games - Second Quarter

I walk down the dirt road of my district,  passing people who congratulate me, trees which sway in the loght breeze of spring, and brick buildings that stand tall like a giant the same buildings that were here for the first ever hunger games. This takes me back to the arena, Glimmer's death her once beautiful face now full of bumps and stings, Marvel's death the way I threw the knife through his body and how he just fell limp to the ground, Rue's death.. Rue poor Rue, the way she asked me to sing, the look on her face she knew she was dying and the fact that she was didn't bother her much, just as she meant for it to happen. Clove's death, it could have been mine if not for Geena and Thresh, her evil vicious look in her eye always scared me but she always reminded me of myself. Geena, I would like to thank her many times for saving me, I wish more then one tribute could live in that case i'd make 24 live. Foxface's wasn't that dreadful, I never even knew she was following me let alone going to eat a night lock berry. Then there was Cato, I never want to relive that the way he cooed for me to kill Gale, he would've turned around and just killed me as well. I come back to reality when I run into a peace keeper.

"Sorry." I gasp. He just nods and walks away. I make my way home to my victor house. Yeah, both me and Gale got our own. He moved in with his family and now he wont have to hunt as much, we still do just not as much as we used to. I dont usually stay in my house much although, i'm usually with my family considering its just me and a wolf pup I found a few months back. I remember the day I found him in the woods. It was a week since the games had ended. Gale and I went into the woods late at night for some time together since we had just gotten back and there were lots of parties we attended.

"Elsa." Gale whispered to me.

"Hm?" I replied picking grass out of the ground.

"We should leave." He said.

"Why?" I asked turning to him.

"There is a wolf pup, the mom shouldn't be far behind." He says.

"What?" I ask standing up. He was right, there was a small pure white wolf pup.

I smile. "Gale, it wouldn't be this far out if it was this young."

"Dont touch it!" He exclaims when I go to pick up the small pup.

"Relax." I laugh, the pup backs up put allows me to pick it up when I smile.  Ever since then I took him home and cared for him. The peace keepers still don't know, but its not like they come up to the victor's houses. I usually just walk him in the woods by the lake. He's easy to manage right now but just wait till he gets bigger. Did I forget to mention his name? Well, its Blue because his eyes are really bright blue.

I got home minutes later to see Blue wagging his tail.

"What did you do?" I laugh picking him up, he got way heavier. I then hear a knock on my door and quickly but Blue into my room.

"Hello?" I ask answering the door. It's Cinna, damn the tour!

"You showered right?" He asked.

"This morning." I replied shocked as all my prep team walked into my house.

"Good, you dont need as much cleaning then." Cinna says. The orange haired guy, and green haired girl approach me. I never did catch their names.

"You guys look so different!" I exclaim even though they didn't nor did I care how they looked. "Did you change your names?"

"Nope." The green haired girl giggled. "I'm still Leena and he's still Candy." Candy? What the heck kind of a name is that? I nod. They got all the dirt out of my nails while Tyline brushed my hair. She still complimented my hair, and suprinsly so did Leena and Candy with my nails. Tyline did my hair, she straightened it. We were headed to district 11 tomorrow today was just the announcement, Gale and I would be on TV. Katniss and Peeta would be on TV as well but later. Cinna dressed me in white top that was tight on my torso, the sleeves went down to my elbow, I had a skater skirt on, and for shoes I had riding boots. I took a deep breath when I opened the door. I hadn't seen Gale in a few days, we weren't technically official but to the cameras we were. I don't even think he meant it when we were in the arena because he hadn't said it since. Neither have I, I didn't exactly mean it either, love is such a strong word i'm not sure even if I feel that way towards Gale I do love him but just not that way. We split apart since the games but only we know that all of Panem however thinks we love each other. I saw Gale when I opened the door, he smiled and waved. So I did the same. In the corner of my eyes I could see the cameras. I started to walk out of my house and ran into Gale.

Laughing I said "Hey."

"Hey." He replied. We both smiled at the camera but we both knew it was fake. We both knew this whole thing was a lie.

"Elsa and Gale will be touring each district and saying some words about the tributes, and about their experience in the games." A loud voice says. "They will be in district 11 tomorrow." The cameras disappeared after that. I was tempted to ask Gale if we were real or not but I pushed the thought away.

"Well, we should board the train." I say shifting my weight from my toes to my heels.

"Yeah." Gale says.

"Crap, Blue." I gasp. "Be right back." I quickly run into the house grabbing Blue. With Gale's help we manage to slip by Cinna and the others and put him in my moms house. My mom, Prim, and Katniss were the only ones who knew about Blue. I gave a quick hug to Prim and my Mom. I quickly enter Haymitch's house to say good bye but he isn't in there.

"Haymitch?" I ask. No reply. Did he sneak on again?

"Elsa we have to go." Gale says. I follow him onto the train. When it takes off I look out the window, no more district 12, just the districts of the people who's children died staring at me wishing it was me who was dead.
