__________________________The next morning, Cruella woke up with something itching her nose. She woke up to see a large leaf growing inside the home. When she walked outside, she saw a large beanstalk growing up to the sky. While she let out a large scream, Carlos ran through the woods and found Mal sleeping under a large tree.
"Mal, Mal!" Carlos yelled out. As Mal woke up from her sleep, she saw Carlos running towards her with a bag in his hands. "Good fortune, I got it! Five gold pieces!"
"How did you get five pieces?" Mal asked.
"Giants! Giants in the sky!" Carlos answered as he threw the bag at Mal's feet. "There are big, tall, terrible Giants in the sky."
He began to climb the large and branchy tree Mal was under, and told his tale. "When I woke up, I saw a beanstalk growing up to the sky. I climbed it and saw that the further I went up, the smaller the ground became. When you way up high, and all alone, you free to do whatever pleases you. Exploring things you've never seen, then suddenly there's a big tall giant at the door."
"A giant?" Mal asked.
"A big tall lady giant was sweeping the floor. She gives you food and rest, and you know things now that you never knew before. But just when you made a friend, someone else, bigger than her, comes down the hall. Which makes you feel smaller than before."
"Why?"
"You'd be scared being all alone. Then you'll miss all the thing you've known, and the little that you own- then the fun is done. You steal what you can and run." He climbed down a few branches as if he were one the beanstalk again. "Then you'll go back down, and the world you know begins to grow. The house, your and the world you never thought to explore. And you'd wish you can live in between, and your back on the ground only different than before. There are big, tall, terrible, awesome, scary Giants in the sky!"
He then swung off the branch, opened the bag and dumped out the giant gold coins. "Here they are, the five pounds you wanted. You said I could buy back Dude with it." Carlos looked around trying to see his dog but didn't. "Where is he?"
"Well, he is with Ben," Mal said.
"Let's go find them!" Carlos said excitedly.
"Wait, I'm not sure I want to sell."
"You want more money? No problem, I'll just back up and get more." With that, Carlos ran as fast as he could back to his home.

"No! Wait, Carlos!" Mal said, trying to hold onto the heavy back of coins. She then saw Ben coming around another tree, looking back at Carlos.
"What was that about?" Ben asked.
"He tried buying the dog back," Mal said as she noticed her friend didn't have the animal. "Where is he?"
"Um... Oh, you got the pink ribbon!" Ben said, quickly changing the subject.
"Yes, now we need two more items."
"Three, actually."
"No, two. We need to get the red hat and the blue slipper."
"And the playful dog."
"You lost Dude?" Mal asked, sounding a bit angry.
"Yes, I've been looking for him all night. But on the bright side, I do know who had the blue slipper."
"How could you let him run away?"
"Well, he could've run away just as easily with you?"
"But he didn't."
