All returned to find Jane up a tree. When she climbed down, she saw Mal and Ben with people she may or may not have recognized. After everyone was introduced and knew what was really happening in the kingdom, all who came with Ben and Mal had the same question.
"Is Mal your real name?" Evie asked her.
"Yeah, is it?" Jay asked, joining the conversation.
"Hey, want to know what happening in the kingdom?" Mal said nervously, once again trying to avoid the topic.
"We know, a giant is the cause of the damage and is after the boy with blonde hair," Audrey said, then went back to the question before.
"It's actually platinum blonde." Mal corrected
"Why are ignoring our question?"
"Which one?" Mal asked.
"The one about your name!"
"What about it?"
"Is Mal your real name?" Everyone asked in sync. Mal stuttered, and before she could answer or make up an excuse, they all heard a whoosh coming above them. They all looked and saw Maleficent flying down to them. She was carrying someone, Carlos, as Dude appeared from the trees.
"Look who I found!" Maleficent said, dragging Carlos passed the group. Dude barked and growled furiously, wanting to protect his master.
"Let go of him!" Jane commanded.
"I'll let him go! When I give him to the Giant!"
Everyone then tried to stop her, but she held on. Jay noticed something in the fell out of Carlos's bag. He picked it up, and after examining it he grabbed everyone's attention.
"Stop!" All looked at him and stopped arguing. "Where did you get this?" He asked the boy. All turned to Carlos, who frowned.
"I'm sorry sir."
"What is it, Jay?" Audrey asked.
"This belongs to my dad. We both had one so we'd never feel so far apart."
"I'm sorry, I came by him. He trapped in a pile of trees."
"No," Jay said, shaking his head. "No, he can't be dead."
"I came by another man," he looked at Mal who was confused. Carlos took out the book and handed it to Ma. "He wanted me to give you this."
Mal looked at it. The cover had a dragon on it and was also covered in leather. When she opened it, she saw a small note.

"Where is he?" Mal asked Carlos sounding hopeful.
"I'm sorry, Mal. He was at a bottom of a cliff, not far from where I found his dad."
"No, that's not true."
"Grieving will get you two nowhere," Maleficent said, "especially you Mal."
"Our fathers are dead!" Jay and Mal yelled out.
"When your dead, you're dead." The fairy grabbed a hold of Carlos again. "It's time we get him to the Giant before we're all dead!"
Everyone began protesting, trying to help Carlos. Jay and Mal, however, knew that it was the boy's fault that their dads are gone.
"Stop be being so soft!" Maleficent told the one who tried get Carlos free. "He's going to the giant!"
"Yes!" Jay said furiously and grabbed Carlos arm. He yanked him away from the group and looked into his eyes furiously. "It's him to blame!"
