As Ben, Audrey, Jane, Doug, and Evie waited for the three to return, they heard a few tree snaps.
Evie looked through the thick fog, seeing Prince Chad looking around. She quickly turned around, making sure he didn't see her face.
"Are you alright, villagers?" The prince said.
"The giant went in that direction." Evie quickly replied, while pointing to the right.
"My darling!" Chad exclaimed, surprised to see his wife with others villagers around her. "What are you doing here? With all of them?"
"They're my friends."
"You have to back to the castle, there is a giant on the loose."
"If I didn't know, then I wouldn't have said where the giant went. And I can't just leave them."
"My love, what is it?" Chad questioned. Evie's face became more serious with a hint of anger.
"I'm not your only love."
"Yes, you are. I truly do."
"I know you abused her and another one of my friends." She said in anger while pointing at Audrey.
"Should we leave you two alone?" Jane asked.
"No, please stay," Evie answered and turned back to Chad.
"How do you know if I really did kiss them?"
"You just admitted it. I said abused, but I didn't say in what way. Also, I have birds friends who told me."
"That's so idiotic, talking to birds!" He laughed out. When he looked at Evie, who was still serious. "I really do love you."
"If you love me, why would you leave me alone?"
Chad thought about it for a brief moment, and said: "I thought if you were mine, I'd never ask for anything more."
Evie scoffed, disgusted at his actions. "If this is how you really behave as a prince, what kind of King will you be?"
"I was raised to be charming, not sincere."
"I think it's best if you leave." She turned around but Chad faced her again.
"Is that what you really wish?"
"My house was a nightmare, your home a dream. Now I want something in between."
Chad frowned and went back to his horse. As he got on and was about to leave, he turned back to Evie.
"I shall always love the mysterious princess who ran away." Evie looked at him and frowned.
"And I the fairway prince, but it looks like neither those exist. Just leave me alone."
Chad looked at his love one last time and at everyone else around her. He then rode away, not looking back. ***********************
Jay, Carlos, and Mal made it to the boy's home. He ran in and up to his room, pulling out his invention.
"What is it?" Jay asked, examining the blueprints that Carlos brought with him.
"I call it a Fly Stinger. It's basically a suit with wings." He explained. Carlos pulled out some leather and metal. When he put it on, it was overall a leather armor with metal around his upper body.
"How does it work?" Mal asked
"I put my arms through these hoops and spread out my arms," He explained while bending down and demonstrating. "and these flaps will be attached which will make me glide."
"That's actually very magnificent," Mal said, very impressed.
"I got the idea when I saw Maleficent's wingspans from a dream I had about a month ago."
"You did all of this in that time?"
"Yup. I also added a pocket for my invention journal, a dagger to sharpen my charcoal pencil, a charcoal pencil, and a compass. I also added this little coil which makes the back fin go up when I press it. It helps keep me stable."
"Did you test it?"
"A few times, but it'll work better when I am at a high place."
"You could climb a high tree and get her attention quicker.
"Well, we should get to weapons," Jay said looking out into the night. "The giant will be back soon."

The three quickly went back into the wrecked woods and found Jay's destroyed home.
"I keep some my weapons in a hole of tree nearby, even some up in the branches, just in case of an emergency," Jay explained. They all looked and did find a few weapons. When they came back together, Mal found a crossbow, Carlos found a bow with some arrows, and Jay found an old sword.
"Where did you get all of this?" Carlos asked.
"I may have stolen some parts to make them," Jay told them. "but my dad owned this sword before he retired of being a knight."
"Wow," Mal said surprised. "Come on we don't have much time."
So the three ran back to the tar pit with all the items needed, hoping they had time to prepare for the next step in the plan. ___________________
