Mal ran away. She didn't know to where, but she did not want to be responsible for another accident. She slowed down and heard someone coming to her.

Mal didn't see who was following her because of the fog surrounding her. She saw a blurry figure in the fog and moonlight but calmed down a bit when she saw it was only Ben.

"There you are!" Ben said in relief.

"I would come any closer," Mal responded backing away from him slowly. "Just stay away from me."

"I know that what you did wasn't you."

"How?"

"I see that you just wanted to get your anger out, which to led to a loss of control in your magic."

"So what, I just need to not get mad for the rest of my life?" She yelled out angrily.

"No. Just think about what makes you happy."

She thought about it. Mal turned away from him and thought of what she wanted other than magic.

"You make me happy." She confessed. "You helped me get all the items to break the curse, even when I wanted to do it alone."

"You couldn't have done it on your own."

"The thought of my father makes me happy, but now he's dead because of her!" She muttered. It caused small sparks of magic to appear from her fingertips.

"He wanted to find you!" Ben said, trying to calm his friend. "He gave you a spellbook. He must've known you were going to break the curse."

Mal looked at Ben, then at the spellbook. She opened it, turning through each of the pages. Some had potions while others had spells, but most of the book contained small notes.

"He wanted you to have this," Ben pointed out. "He somehow knew you'd need help."

"I can't do this alone," Mal told him, looked up to his eyes. "We'll need help."

Before either of them got up, both leaned close to each other. They closed their eyes and kissed. They forgot about their troubles for a moment, thinking this short perfect moment.

Ben pulled away and got up. He held his hand, and Mal took it while holding the book in her other hand. He led her through the twisted path they went through, going back to the ones they left behind, not letting go for one moment.
