"Hospital"

Doctor Caleb said that the injury on my hand would heal within two weeks or so depending on my care. Meanwhile the injury on my leg, although nothing is broken and there's no tissues damage, it will still need about a month plus to heal.

Overall, I will be able to leave the hospital in about a week. Probably less since my parents don't like me staying at the hospital. It must have triggered their memories of me laying on the hospital bed in a coma.

That's the start of everything...

I turn to look at Abby as she concentrates on peeling the apple. She's making an apple bunny or so she claims.

Cute but in the end its gonna end up in my stomach so I don't really know how to appreciate it. It seems kind of pointless as well as time wasting.

"I know,"

"What?" I blink.

"I'm just trying to prolong my time of staying here with you,"

I smile and reply, "I know,"

The two of us laugh for no reason. When the room goes silent again, it still feels comfortable.

"Hey... What's my full name?"

Abby makes a blank face and appears to be caught off guard.

"Why are you asking?" She asks with a confuse look on her face.

"Just wondering if it means anything," I lied. To be honest, I realise I don't know 'his' full name.

"Oh! Well Luke Evan McKenzie, how do I explain this...?" She pauses for a moment. I however blanked out for a moment when she said Evan.

E in my name stands for Evan...

"When you were born, your father said that you were the light of his life. Your mother decided to name you Luke because it means 'light giving' or something,"

"Oh and how do you know this story?"

"Psh, I always ask this kind of stuff out of curiosity," I nod at her answer.

"Okay, let me continue. Now, hmm. As for how Evan comes in picture wasn't decided until a week after you were born. Your father's best friend, Evan... He died in a car crash if I'm not mistaken so in order to honour the memory of him, your father put his name as your middle name,"

I look at her questioningly and even raised a brow.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She asks with her brows furrowed.

"Ugh, I was simply curious that's why I know it," She continues.

"I didn't say anything," I reply with a chuckle.

Abby purse her lips together and before I could say anything, someone knocks on the door.

The both of us turn our heads to look at the door. It creaks open and Ryan walks in with his head down as he plays with his phone.

He lazily lifts his head and stares at us for a moment before continuing to do whatever he's doing on his phone.

Abby and I turn to look at each other and shrugs our shoulders. We both seems to do it at the same time thus the two of us burst into laughter.

"Oh, right," Ryan's voice cut off our laughter.

He gives me a glance before he turns to look at Abby.

He then continues his words by saying "Ean is waiting for you at the parking lot,"

Abby stands up abruptly with a flustered expression.
