"New Home"

"Hey, thanks for taking care of him,"

"No, it's fine. He's easy to take care of compared to the twins,"

My focus shifts from their conversation to Aiden when he tugged my shirt. I'm sitting on the couch and Aiden is facing me while being meek. I couldn't resist pinching his chubby cheeks.

He's petrified on the spot. I think I spook him so I give him a peck on both cheeks.

"Eww," He whines as he wipes his cheeks.

I laugh at his reaction.

"Are you going to stay here too?" He suddenly asks.

"Yeah, I am," I reply casually.

Aiden wraps his little arms around my neck and snuggles. I hug him back and lift him up so he's sitting on my lap.

It seems that Ryan and the other guy have finished talking so they walk in my direction. The other guy looks friendly as he smiles at me. He stops in front of me and crouches down to meet my eye level.

For some reason I feel like I am treated like a child.

"I heard you lost your memories. You probably don't remember me but I'm Richard. You and Abby like to call me Rick," His smile widens as he reaches out to handshake with me.

I take his hand and grip it before realising while nodding and smiling.

Richard rubs Aiden's hair.

"Alright, Aiden. I'm leaving now. Don't you want to give me a hug before I go?"

Aiden turns to look at him then he slowly reaches out his small hands towards Richard. Richard grabs Aiden's hands and place them around his neck. He then engulfs Aiden into his arms.

It doesn't take long before the two release each other. Richard rubs Aiden's hair once more before getting up from his position.

"I'll walk you out," Ryan says casually and the two of them left after Richard gave a few more words of goodbyes.

"So, where's your room?" I ask Aiden.

Aiden grabs my hand and starts walking to a door. I help him open the door since he can't reach the handle.

When the door opens wide, I could see the interior of a little boy's room with a bunch of toys and children's book.

"Wow, you have a nice room,"

He pulls me in and makes me sit on the bed. I comply with a smile. He then walks towards a chest box that looks like a pirate treasure box. He starts rummaging the box passionately.

I chuckle quietly before examining the interior of the room properly. The walls are painted with vibrant colours with cute doodles. The room is not big but big enough for a little boy.

There's a small desk for Aiden to use. There's a small bookshelf on the side. He has a beige wardrobe. A green carpet in the center.

My observation gets cut off when Aiden comes back to me while giving me a teddy bear weary a baby's bib. He goes back to rummage the box once more. I wonder how many toys are in there that make him concentrate on finding whatever he's looking for.

I was just about to get up and help Aiden but he comes back holding two more bears. One bear is wearing a tie and the other is wearing an apron.

Oh, it's a family bear. That's cute.

Aiden holds up the one wearing the apron and repeatedly says "Yuke!"

I raise my brows in shock. It takes me a while to understand but it seems that he is referring the apron bear as me.
