"Ryan"
I'm sitting inside the building. It looks terrible on the outside but the inside is fully furnished and renovated. The interior looks like the olden day's noble house.
I sip the tea to calm myself down. I'm still shaken up. The room is empty at the moment. I don't know where Ryan is.
This place gives me a feeling of a secret base for some reason. I mean, it's in the middle of nowhere, appears abandoned and there are many buff guys carrying firearms with them.
Ryan seems to know everyone, which makes even less sense. I thought he's just a normal office worker.
Okay, not exactly normal but he shouldn't have any connections to men that looks like they're from the military.
Could this be one of his past?
Some of them looks like thugs too. Where the heck am I?
My thoughts gets cut off when I hear murmuring outside the room. I move closer to the door. I can hear Ryan and someone else whose voice is familiar. I peek out of the door and see Ryan is talking to Joey. One with an angry face and the other appears to be remorseful.
"I hope everything will go smoothly but I still have one more question for you," Ryan voice sounds stern.
"Erk. I know, I know. It's my fault. How do I say this..."
"Make it short," Ryan cuts off Joey's mumblings.
"It's just that the little master didn't look well after his appointment so Do-Hyun suggested using a longer route. Well, my brain automatically thought about using the smaller road outside the city since the apartment is on the other side of the city. By the time Do-Hyun scolded me, it was kind of too late to turn back,"
"I see. Since Do-Hyun is out there on his own, that should be enough for his punishment. As for you, be prepared,"
Joey's body turns stiff at Ryan's last words. Ryan on the other hand, turns his body towards the door. He caught me peeping so I awkwardly stands there. It's already too late to run away and pretend I didn't hear anything.
However, his words kind of makes me frown.
Ryan waves his hands to shoo away Joey. I look at Joey through the corner of my eyes. I notice he makes a face before walking away.
Ryan's figure gets closer to me and blocks away the image of Joey's back. I look up and see Ryan's face is expressionless for a second before he gives me a soft smile. Somehow, I think I felt a chill go down my spine in that split second I saw his empty look.
"Let's go in,"
He walks in after pushing the door wider. I follow behind him.
"Where's Do-Hyun?"
"Somewhere,"
"Shouldn't you guys try to save him?"
"He can save himself,"
"But..." Before I could finish my sentence, Ryan places his index finger on my lips.
"He's a professional. He knows how to protect himself. You, however, just had a big shock. You need to rest more,"
He moves me to the sofa and sits next to me.
Our relationship to others might seems that we are closer than normal friends but honestly, I don't know what is going on between the two of us. It's really ambiguous and Ryan never made it clear with me.
