"Revelation."
Ryan pokes his head out like he always does at home. He scans the room and stops when his eyes land on me. He gives me a smile and enters the room properly. He approaches the sofa and pats Aiden's head before stopping in front of me.
"Luke, come with me," He says all of a sudden.
I did not expect it so it takes me a moment before I react. I stare blankly at him and unintentionally let out a 'ha?'
He doesn't reply me but turns to look at Sammuel.
"You don't mind watching over Aiden again, right?"
This time Sammuel is the one staring blankly but he recovers quicker than I did.
"Yes, it should be fine since I don't have anything else to do," He reply in a business-like tone.
"You're not at work. Don't be so formal. Anyway, have fun," Ryan comments and though the words aren't in anyway impolite, Sammuel's face turns gloomy.
Ryan doesn't give it any attention and turns to look at me, "Let's go,"
Ryan walks to the door as I get up from the sofa but I stop in front of Aiden and Sammuel.
I turn to look at Aiden.
"Be good, okay," I say softly.
Aiden nods his head like a rock star. I laugh at his gesture. I don't say anything to Sammuel but give him a smile instead. He returns the smile with a business smile.
The both of us walk out of the door.
"What's with Aiden's sudden infatuation over Sammuel?" Ryan suddenly inquires.
"Oh, I'm not sure either. Sammuel just said something about having a Chinese and Korean blood in him," I reply with uncertainty.
"Weird,"
"Yeah,"
The two of us go silent again but then I recall Sammuel's grave expression.
"What's wrong with Sammuel?" I ask.
Ryan turns his head to look at me for a moment before answering me with a question, "What do you mean?"
"Uh, it's just that whenever someone mentions about his job, he doesn't look too good,"
Ryan seems to understand me. Then, one corner of his lips curls up.
"That's because he's a workaholic so we decided to give him some time off. Plus, he's not in the condition to work anyway,"
"What do you mean by that?"
"Something happened but that's his personal life so I'm not at a liberty to speak about it,"
"Oh, okay," I ascent my head. "But then, who took over his job in the meantime? I feel like Ean is very particular about that,"
Ryan snickers at my question.
"You're definitely correct. Ean won't take just anyone as his secretary. That guy is a workaholic too so not everyone can handle his workload. Also, not everyone can reach his expectations. There was once Sammuel had to take a week off because his grandmother passed away and he was going out of country. We needed to hire 5 temporary secretaries so that they could keep up with Ean and even then, he wasn't satisfied by their performance,"
"Oh. That bad? But it sounds like only one person replaced Sammuel this time?" I look at Ryan with a questioning and confused look.
"Yeah, there's only one other person that can handle Ean's workload. It's someone you know,"
