"Us?"

It's quiet in the car. The sky is dark. It seems that a long time has passed without us noticing it. Rain started falling down a while ago. The quietness does not feel awkward but my heart feels heavy.

As for Aiden, he really did refuses to let go of Sammuel until the end. We had to drive both of them to his house. He apologised to me when I don't think it's even necessary. Aiden is a child so I would like to spoil him a little. Plus, it's not like Sammuel is an irresponsible adult.

However, this means that Ryan and I would be alone for tonight. If Aiden still refuse to come home tomorrow, that means that it will end up just the two of us for a day or more.

I glance at Ryan's side profile as he drives away but I quickly shift my gaze to the outside. The rain is covering the view and all I can see are streetlights and lights from the huge corporate buildings.

Sammuel lives closer to the office but Ryan's house is slightly further but at this hour even though the peak hour has passed, the traffic is still slow.

The songs from the radio fills the silence in the car. Somehow, I start to feel uncomfortable. This silence is starting to become unbearable.

Luckily, before I couldn't take it anymore, we reach home. Ryan parks his car at his usual spot. Then the two of us ride the elevator and reach the front door soon after.

Ryan opens the door and switches on the light by the door. I follow him inside.

"Are you hungry?" That's the first sentence he spoke since he started driving.

On that cue, my stomach grumbles. His signature laugh appears once more and he goes straight to the kitchen.

Since I don't really know what to do, I follow him there and sit on the island stool. He rolls up his sleeves and start chopping away. Even I don't know what he's going to cook us.

Just as I was about to speak, I receive a text message from Abby.

'I heard about today. Are you okay? Call me when you get this'

I get up from the stool, go into my room, and head to the balcony. Maybe the cold air of night would blow away this uneasy feeling of mine.

As soon as I reach the balcony, I dial her number. It doesn't take long before Abby picks up the call.

"Luke, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Nothing happened,"

"Are you sure? I heard it was pretty bad. The car was badly damaged,"

"Someone did a check up on me and said that I didn't have any wounds except for some scratches,"

"How bad are those?"

"It's like a cat's scratch. Not that bad,"

"Did you go to the hospital?"

"No... I don't think it was necessary,"

"You still need to check if there's any internal injuries. What is Ryan even doing? Why didn't he take you to the hospital straightaway?!"

"No, I was the one that insisted not to go and the doctor says that I should be alright,"

"Is that not serious?!"

"I don't think so. I'm fine,"

"Ugh, if you say so but if you end up dead tomorrow, I'll kill you,"

"How can you kill me if I'm already dead?"

"I'll tell Death to revive you and then kill you again,"
