"I..."
I look at the blue sky as the view changes from time to time. I turn to look at Ryan's side profile. He appears to be focused on driving.
Visit my own grave? It's an odd feeling but at the same time, I feel relief to know that I have a grave. I thought that those guys would just toss my body somewhere or bury me at a construction site.
I wonder...
I look out at the scenery that changes from a grey view to green.
Ryan drives at a neither fast nor slow pace. I thank him for that in my heart because I don't know what I am feeling right now.
Am I excited? Am I looking forward to it or am I afraid?
I don't know.
I feel numb. It's a strange feeling. I am in a state of nothingness. I don't feel anything.
I close my eyes because it feels like there's weights on my eyelids. It's too hard to keep them open.
Ryan fell asleep right after asking me that question. I was stunned the whole time. I don't know what happened because I blanked out, but by the time Ryan came to get me, it was already noon. He walked into my room and approached me who was sitting by the window, which I don't recall how I got there. He told me to shower and then went to his room to get ready.
Before I knew it, I was next to him in the car watching him drive out of the apartment's underground parking lot.
--
My body stirs a little and I feel like something is wrong. This does not feel like home or my bed. The fluffy pillow is not under me and the position of my body doesn't feel quite right.
I open my eyes and see the car's handbrake.
Slowly, I start to remember that I fell asleep in the car when Ryan was driving.
However, when I look outside the car, I can see the ocean.
Odd.
My gaze moves slowly and stops when I see his back half sitting on the car's bonnet. His body is positioned leisurely on top as if he's taking in the scenery.
I open the door slowly and walk out. I stand by the door as I look at him. The sun is shining on him. From the position of the sun, I roughly guessed that it's almost evening.
I close the door softly and head to the front. He still has not turned his head to me but he spoke lazily,
"Had a good rest?"
I nod but then realise that he's not looking at me so I give a soft hum to reply him.
I stretch out my body as I breathe in the air. It feels great. I softly hum a tune I recalled Abby carelessly sung.
"You seem to be in a good mood," Our eyes meet when he turns his head. I get startled by the soft loving look in his eyes.
"Anyone would be if they have a good rest,"
"True," He agrees as he gets up and moves the driver's door.
"Come on. Let's get going," He says warmly.
I was going to ask him 'where to' but then I recall that we're going to my grave. I quietly move and enter the passenger's seat.
Ryan drives away from the open parking space. It seems that we were the only ones there cause I don't see any other car as we drive away.
It feels like a short drive, maybe because I blanked out the whole way.
"We're here,"
Ryan says as he pulls out the car key from the ignition. I realise that we're at a parking lot. Somehow, it looks familiar.
