LUKE

It has been about three weeks since school started, and I have been avoiding the Hart Siblings like the plague. I mean not like that worked much cause basically I have almost every class with them but besides that, I am alive!

My 'Baby' isn't here yet, they said that it would take probably another week. Thankfully I have convinced my parents to let me at least use one of the cars. My dad and I are still working on the Corvette and she is looking more and more brand new. Its taking a while since my dad is always busy. I guess that's expected from a doctor. And well, things with my mom has become lighter. She's getting to know the other women in our neighborhood and she even joined a book club. I think it's good for her. I still catch her looking through a box of some of Kyle's things that we brought with us. I can hear her crying when she's looking through them. But other than that, she is trying to make an effort, not only for her or my father and me, but for Kyle as well.

Through the weeks, I've gotten closer to the guys. Jesse, Frost, Shrimp and Cameron. Especially Cameron, I've never realized that he was basically in all of my classes. He's even slept over a few times, and my parents told him that he is welcome anytime. I guess they saw what I saw in him, which is kinda weird in a way. He's even began to help with the car. But things have been off, since meeting him, as in he's never invited me into his house. I know where he lives but he's never let any of us inside, and I don't question it.

Since the first day of school, it has been quiet. Too quiet. Everyone is still in a surprise that I'm still alive, but it's beginning to die down a bit. Me on the other hand am still waiting for the fireworks. The calm before the storm. After a week I almost believe that I'm off the hook, then I remember the look in Christians eyes the first day when I stepped in. They screamed, revenge. They screamed to put me in my place the first chance he gets. So I'm making it my life's mission to stay clear of Christian. That didn't go as plan when Coach McNeal came to me during PE the day we played football. It wasn't intended, but he asked me to be on the team, said that I would be a good asset. He told me to attend practice just for a try out, so I did. You are looking at Morningside High's new Wide Receiver. Believe me, I wish it was a joke. At least I would have Frost with me.

Cassie on the other hand, confuses me. Since the first day, the first time I laid eyes on her, she hasn't given me the time of day. But I do often feel those eyes on me, haunting me everyday I'm at that school. I don't know how, but I do. The day after the incident I was confronted by Dean, trying to apologize for the siblings actions, and heard that I had defended Cameron from Christian earning me respect throughout the school. I don't feel respected. I feel like the bicycle riding grizzly bear at the circus and Christian is the Ring Leader.

Today is Friday and tonight is the football teams first home game. Apparently it's a big thing here, we had spirit week and let me just tell you that these people make one sport such a big deal, I'm surprised there wasn't a rule at this school that says you have to paint your face blood red and black when there was a home game. But my anxiety is at an all time high. I was never serious about playing football. That was all Kyle. He was the one that wanted to go pro. When my parents found out that I went for the team, they were both looking at me with the utmost pride that they had left. They started talking about how Kyle was proud of me that I actually tried out.

"One day, I'm gonna turn pro!"

Me and Kyle were playing catch at the park. We were playing football with a bunch of our friends but that ended almost two hours ago.

"You have to be good at football to make it pro!" I joked. That earned me a tackle from him and turned into brotherly wrestling. Once we were done with that, we ended up laying down on the ground looking up at the sky that was turning into the many colors of the sunset.
