LUKE

All day I've been nervous. I've become a girl. I think I changed my outfit about five times before deciding on a pair of black skinny jeans with a dress shirt. I've also decided on a cliche romantic first date. I've been up since 5AM looking up places to go eat dinner, and plan this whole thing.

When she said yes, I swear my whole world lit up. Like I could breathe again. The rest of the day was spent thinking about her. Thinking what it would be like to hold her in my arms. To kiss those plump lips. And just stare into those enchanted emerald eyes.

"Wow." I hear from behind me. I turn to see my mom at the door with an amused smile, a hand on her cheek while the other is holding it up. "This girl must have you wrapped around her finger if she's got you dressing up like that."

I could feel my cheeks heat up. I started fiddling with the buttons on the shirt.

"Well, she's not like any other girl." I mumble out. My mother comes over to me. I turn in time for her to make it all the way in front of me. She looks up to me and examine what I've chosen. She fixes the collar of my shirt before putting both her hands on on face.

"This girl, is the luckiest girl in the world."

No, I was the luckiest guy.

"I would like to meet her." She says with a stern tone meaning that she's serious.

"Well, can I get through the first date, before that?"

"Does that mean there's gonna be a second date?" She says a mischievous smirk appearing. I sure hope so.

"I'm going now." I say hoping that she wouldn't keep me here with the twenty questions.

"Okay. You don't want to keep her waiting." At that, I grabbed my wallet and keys and headed downstairs. When I got to the last step the doorbell went off. Since I was the closest I called out that I would get it.

I opened the door, revealing a man that seemed to be the same age as my dad but yet he still looked younger. But unlike my dad, this man was tall and toned with curly dark hair that goes just above his jawline. But what caught me on edge were the color of his eyes. Ice blue. They look like they could freeze a person just by looking at him the wrong way.

"Are you just going to stand there, or are you going to invite me in?" His baritone voice calls out.

"Who are you?" I draw out not meaning to say that. But before he can answer, my father interrupted.

"Cutter Rollins!" He says coming to the door. I still hadn't looked away from this guy who is now known as Cutter. I don't know why but I have this chilling feeling going down my spine, but I guess this guy would receive that kind of reaction by just the looks of him.

"Robby Garrick!" He says putting on a smile before both are giving each other a hug. "It's been a while, Brother?"

Brother?

"It's been a long while." My dad says once they've let go of the embrace. Soon my mothers makes her way down the stairs.

"Cutter?" She says a bit surprised.

"Hello Emma. It's always lovely to see you." He says, smile becoming softer. And whose smile wouldn't become softer when they see my mother.

"What are you doing here?" She say giving him a hug as well.

"I heard the Garrick's were back in LA."

Back in LA?

"Yeah, we just moved back." my dad says. Then suddenly they remember I was still here. "Cutter, this is my son Luke. Luke this is Cutter, we went to college together."
