LUKE
The last few weeks have been quiet. I'm still tutoring with Cassie, and tomorrow we have a test in Chemistry. Gordon said that if I pass then I wouldn't need anymore tutoring. I'm both grateful and disappointed. I've loved my tutoring time with Cassie.
Since the Hansen party we have been becoming closer and closer, along with Cameron and Dean. They've actually been sitting with us during lunch, Erin and Jordan as well. Things are still a little strained with Christian, as is, he still hates me. Except for when we are on the field. I haven't heard from Logan or Ava since the party. Which I'm guessing is a good thing. But there's still an unsettling feeling in my stomach that the party wasn't the last time I would see them.
Scott and Brady left that Sunday. They had put a punching bag up in the garage while they were here and that was where I had spent that day. I've loved having them here, but they had to get back to Minnesota to help their father in the shop. I told them I would ask my mom if I could go there for a visit.
Right now, I'm in the library with Cassie. Our 'last' tutoring session before the big test. Since that time in Jordan's room, I've been wanting to ask her out on a real date, but I chicken out and run in the other direction.
"Luke?"
I mean with any other girl, I would be fine and ask her out with confidence. But this is Cassie Hart we're talking about. The Sweetheart of Morningside High.
"Luke?"
She's the one that is on top of the 'Social Food Chain,' and I'm the awkward new kid who got lucky to be on the football team.
"Luke!"
It's not like I can just say, 'Hey Cassie! You. Me. Saturday Night. I'll pick you up at eight.' I can't just say that. I mean I probably could but I'm too chicken-shit.
"LUKE!" I snapped to Cassie's attention. Have I been spacing? "Earth to Luke, are you with me?"
"Yeah, sorry. Spaced out again I guess. Sorry." I say looking down at my notes.
"That seems to happen a lot." You have no idea.
"Yeah. So, what are we on?" She's quiet for a while, narrowing her eyes. I could see the question in her eyes so I narrow my eyes playfully at her. Soon she gives up and we go back to the session.
"Name the flame colors for each of these elements."

School was almost out and I'm fairly confident that I will be able to pass this test with flying colors. I thought about failing on purpose so I can have more tutoring sessions with her, but that would mean that I would be off the team. And since Logan, I've been wanting to kick his ass, and staying on the team will let me do just that.
Also, I've just realized that the hurt expression Cassie had, was not showing until Logan showed up. Which leaves me wondering, why? And makes me want to kick his ass even more. Soon the bell rings, signaling the end of the school day.
Me and Cassie say our goodbyes before heading to our own practices. Believe me when I say that I've tried to ask her out before heading in the direction of the locker room. Then again, I should probably start growing feathers and laying eggs, cause I'm the chicken-ness chicken in this whole world.

The next day, I'm sitting in my car waiting for Cameron to come out of his house. He's been distancing himself again. To say that I'm not worrying more and more each day is an understatement. I still make sure that he's not making new cuts, and I've got Dean to make sure as well. But lately, Cameron has been getting distant from Dean as well. I feel like I'm missing something and I know I am whenever I ask Cameron about it and he avoids everything about Dean.
