LUKE
It was almost seven when I finally walked out of the house to head over to the Hart Residence with an extra pep to my step. Everything just felt ten times lighter. Until I realized that I'm having dinner with Christian Hart.
So, when I hesitated to ring the doorbell I wasn't expecting Christian to be the one to open the door. Okay, maybe just a little bit of expectation. I mean this is his house too.
"Luke." He says, crossing his arms in front of him. I still wasn't so sure what I was expecting.
"Christian." I dip my chin in hello.
"Flowers? Really?" He says lifting a brow, seeming a little bit more intimidating than before.
"They're for Cassie."
"Of course they are."
"Christian." We hear from behind him. Soon Cassie's face comes to view with a smile on her face. Then she looks down to the red tulips in my hand. Her smile brightens a bit more. For a reason, unknown, she looks even more beautiful than before. "Be. Nice."
I didn't realize I was staring and spacing out but they were definitely having a hushed argument. With one last look, Christian opened the door wider before turning around and headed towards to where I'm guessing, the dining room.
When I moved my gaze back to Cassie she was already looking at me, with a smile. I don't know how long we were standing there, but I finally remembered that I was still standing outside so I held out my hand that was holding the red tulips to her. She took them with the slight blush that I'm always trying to capture. Beautiful.
"Are you going to come in or just stand there all night?" Cassie says while I still stand there awestruck from the beautiful girl standing right in front of me. It was my turn to blush. I stepped up to right in front of her and placed a chaste kiss to her plump lips that I've missed in the last twenty four hours. Cause I'm that kind of boyfriend.
"Oh my goodness. Aren't you two the cutest couple ever!" I suddenly hear from behind me. Turning around I see the woman that answered the door the first time I picked Cassie up for school.
"Miss Henrietta," Cassie addresses the woman, letting a breathy laugh and shielding the blush from her. I couldn't help but smile.
"I'm sorry, you two haven't been properly introduced. Luke, this is our housekeeper Henrietta. She's also, Bryan's Nanny, and me and Christians when we were younger as well." She says gesturing to the latino woman who looks to be in her late forties, with peppered hair but still beautiful in her years. Cassie put her hand in mine, interlacing our fingers as she continued. "Miss Henrietta, this is Luke. My boyfriend."
I snap my head towards Cassie surprised, cause this was the first time she called me her boyfriend. And honestly, it sounded like the most perfect song.
"This is the famous Luke?" I look to Cassie in time for her to turn pink again.
"Yes." She mumbles out, a shy smile creeping to her face. Henrietta gushes over us which caused us both to blush.
"Alright well, dinner is ready now, so come on." Henrietta says before turning around and going back to the kitchen.
"Come on." Cassie laces her fingers with mine, and pulls me in the direction of the dining room. Once we make it to the dining room, everyone is already seated. Teddy, Bryan, Christian, Maddie. Even Dylan and Erin are here.
"Hey, Luke. Glad you can make it." Teddy says, as he puts salad on his plate and I'm assuming Bryans plate as well.
"Thanks for inviting me." I say following Cassie to our seats. Right when I'm seated, I remember why I feel ten times lighter. I look to Teddy again, "And thank you, for everything."
