LUKE
"Luke." I was shaken awake by the blonde next to me. I felt like I haven't even slept for two minutes. Only Cameron sounded as tired as I was. That's when I noticed the loud music playing from my phone. My alarm was going off and we didn't even notice, or I didn't even notice. Groaning, I turn and grab my phone from my nightstand and press on the snooze button. Soon my doors open and we smell the deliciousness of my Mother's cooking.
"Come on, Boys! Time to get up. I'm making pancakes!" My Mom says a little bit too excited this morning. Me and Cameron are still in bed groaning.
"Your Mom is enthusiastic. Why is your mom enthusiastic?" Cameron says, voice groggy with sleep and muffled from the pillow covering his face. I don't have my eyes open but I'm pretty sure my Mom is still in the room.
"Mom? Why are you enthusiastic this morning?" I ask, scared of what the answer would be.
"Because today is the day I get to meet this girl you're so fond of!" She says before I feel her grab my blanket and yank it off of both me and Cameron. "Now get up! Breakfast should be ready when you are done getting ready for school."
We both shriek from the coldness that the blanket was blocking. My mom leaves to go back to her cooking, but not before yelling one more time to get our asses up. Her words, not mine. We both don't make a move to get up and get ready.
"Cassie's meeting your parents today?" I hear Cameron mumble out from the side. Oh shit. My eyes widen at the thought of Cassie meeting my parents. My overbearing, overprotective Mother, and my bad-joking, overwhelming Father. And I'm suddenly wide awake. "Luke?"
"Cassie's meeting my parents." I say in monotone staring at the ceiling.
"Yes. And we have to pick her up when we head to school." He says in a tone like I'm a five year old he's trying to convince me that the Tooth Fairy isn't real. He gets up and grabs some things and head to the bathroom while I'm still staring blankly at my plain white ceiling. I should paint it a different color. After Cameron gets out of the shower that's when I decide to get ready myself and head downstairs for the Breakfast Extravaganza that my Mom has prepared. The table was filled with colorful fruits, two giant stacks of perfectly round pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage and toast.
"Damn Mom, are you feeding a village or something?" I say jokingly, sitting down at the table and getting myself a plate. Cameron does the same.
"Ha. Ha. Very funny." She says not amused at my joke. She continues, "Does she have any allergies? So I know what not to cook for tonight." I look up as she's making a plate for Dad. He should be home from a fourteen hour shift at the hospital soon.
"I don't think so." I say shaking my head, knowing the 'she' she is talking about is Cassie.
"Do I at least get to know her name?" I could see Cameron trying to hold in a laugh. I tried kicking him under the table but he's quick to move out of the away of my foot.
"Cassie." I say taking another bite of my pancakes. I look towards her and she has the face she always makes when she trying to figure something out. What would that be though? Deciding not to stress on it I got back to finishing the feast my Mother had made.
After breakfast, we hurry out the door just in case my Mom tries to over-bear us with bringing leftovers to school for lunch or try to stuff us again to a point where we will be full for a few days. We're on our way to pick up Cassie with Fall Out Boy on the radio.
"Are you going to be okay?" I ask when we were almost at Cassie's. He looks towards me, eyebrows furrowed.
"What do you mean?" He asks.
