"Sir, are you sure that you don't want me come with you? It's very dangerous out there. Specially if you're alone." Paolo asked. He's my assistant and a brother from the organization I own now. Straight from Uncle Mark's funeral I asked Paolo to drive me to the airport.
This is the start of my life. Ever since my mom died eight years ago, I stopped living my life. It was more like a chore. I did things because I need to, even the things I don't want to.
"About Miss Cassidy..." Paolo said.
"Yeah about that. Can you watch her for me while I'm away? Just to make sure she's safe, but keep your distance." My sister doesn't even know I'm still alive. I purposely asked Uncle Mark to fake my death in some gang war, that way I know she would stop asking about me anymore. To prevent her from harm, even though it hurts. I even sent her in some Ivy league school in Miami and left her with respectable amount.
I know that she would live her life the way she deserves. The thought of it alone was enough to ease my conscience and longing. Nagpasalamat na ako kay Paolo at nagpaalam.
I dyed my hair darker. I even changed my name. Mahirap na. I just wanna know things and I think Flademia is the right to place to start.
When I was thirteen, mom got sick and I didn't know what to do back. Then Uncle Mark came. He wasn't a good role model for a boy like I was but he's everything I got. Mom was hospitalized and I don't know where to get the money for her meds.
Humingi ako ng tulong kay Uncle, ang sabi niya he would help me but I have to do something for him in return. I have to deliver some things in a certain place. The receiver was quite general when he got his package. He gave me two hundred buck. That was a good money.
We sell guns. Illegally. I know it wasn't right but it wasn't wrong either. I lied of course. I know she wouldn't like it if I tell her. I told her that I'm working on a factory near by at naniwala naman siya.
When she died, I can't do anything but to look from afar. Everyone in our group was being hunted by the CIA kaya kahit gustuhin ko man, hindi ko magawang lumapit at baka mapahamak pa ang kapatid ko kapag nagkataon. I saw her how she grieved alone at wala akong magawa.
After more than twenty hours of flight, we landed. Sa wakas, nandito na ako. The land who witnessed everything. I'm here.
I just realized when got outside of the airport that I have no one to rely on here. Now I regret leaving Paolo in the states. No one will do things for me here but myself.
As if there was a commotion and cameras flashing everywhere.
Men wearing blacksuits were surrounding the area as if they're protecting something.
"Excuse me? May I know what's going on?" I asked the lady that seems like a reporter.
