“Do you have any fucking idea what you've just done?”
Aleks' high is long gone and he's back down on Earth where him and Ze sit in front of a webcam with Seamus fuming on the other side. The picture is laggy from the shitty Internet in the house, but the audio is crystal clear.
“Seamus, I think it's understandable that he was desperate for it from what you've-”
“We went over this Aleks! You don't kill unless it's James!”, Seamus shouts. His picture on the screen is just a mess of pixels in different colours, but Aleks can assume Seamus is either crossing his arms or gripping the edge of his desk so hard that his knuckles turn white. “One rule. I gave you one rule to follow and you fucking break it!”
“It was burning me alive, Seamus!”, Aleks argues, “You don't get it because you aren't addicted to anything. I needed it. You're lucky it was some stranger and not Ze.”
“Lucky? I'm lucky? Aleks, you've done some stupid shit today, but I didn't think you would insult me.”, Seamus retorts. “Do you have any idea who that woman is?”
“Obviously not since I just called her a fucking stranger. I dunno.”
“Monica Chen. I figure you of all people would come across her since you've been reading Jordan's damn life story.”, Seamus informs.
Aleks half shrugs with a quizzical look on his face. “What the hell does she have to do with Jordan?”
Aleks hears Seamus scoff on the other end. He hears a mouse clicking around for a few seconds before Seamus begins to speak again. “Lemme just read you an excerpt from the ever popular Creature Wiki. Oh look, it seems that Monica has a page on here. How about we read what it says in the History section? I don't think we'll have to read too much, so don't strain yourself here, Aleks. “She is Kootra's fianceé...” Oh, wasn't that educational. That should give you a general idea of her god damn connection to Jordan!”
Ze snorts next to Aleks, a fist forming in front of his mouth to contain his laughter.
“This isn't funny, Ze, so I suggest you get a hold of yourself before I set one of my other hit men on you and Aleks!”
“Quit bluffing, Seamus. I know Aleks is the only one you've got.”, Ze says with a smug smirk.
Seamus is silent on the other end.
“You forget that I'm your step brother.”
“Oh, how I wish that I could.”, Seamus mutters. “Anyway, Aleks, you've just dug yourself a hell of a hole and dragged me down with you. Do you have any idea how much clean up I had to do because of you?”
“Oh God forbid that you do work.”, Aleks replies drily.
Seamus half chuckles, suddenly amused. “Aleks, do you really think that now is the time to set me off considering how much you've fucked us all over tonight?”
