When he wakes up in the morning, head pounding from a lack of sleep since he got maybe 4 hours in him, his first move is to call Eddie.

Eddie is always at Aleks' bedside when he wakes up post murders. He's there to make sure Aleks is feeling okay and hand him pills if a headache is on the horizon. He makes Aleks feel less like a bloodthirsty freak and more like some guy who just got a little too drunk the night before.

His phone has barely any juice left, probably from the long distance call and the fact that he didn't plug it in last night. Aleks assumes it'll be enough to make the short call. He types in Eddie's number, more quickly than he would a password for one of his emails, and puts the phone up to his ear. It rings five times before going straight to his voice mail.

Weird. Well, maybe Eddie is still asleep. Aleks did keep him up late last night with his shit and as much as he kept telling Eddie that he was fine and he could just hang up now, Eddie had insisted. Maybe it was selfish of him to keep him on the line for an hour, but he can't see much wrong with it.

He grabs his hoodie from the foot of the bed and slips it on. He needs to find Ze and make things right with him. He probably owes him an apology for everything that went on last night, especially the part where Ze had to drag him away from a murder scene. That can't have been great for their already rocky relationship. Aleks walks towards his bedroom door while zipping up his sweater, pulling the hood over his head simple because he can.

When he opens the door, he doesn't see Ze in the kitchen or the living room. The house is completely silent, in fact. Confused, Aleks walks deeper into the main part of the house and looks on all of the tables and surfaces for some kind of note about Ze's whereabouts. He doesn't find a thing, which only heightens Aleks' confusion.

His next place to check is Ze's bedroom which is only a short distance down a separate hallway from the living room. His door is directly at the end and it's closed. When Aleks is in front of it, he's about to rap his knuckles against the wood before he hears Ze's voice on the other side. He presses the side of his head against the side of the door, straining his ears to listen.

“You could have told me. That's probably something you should have told me before you shipped us somewhere else in the country together... No, he didn't hurt me, but I saw what he did with you the first time you guys met... I know that he's fragile, but that doesn't mean I'm about to spend anymore time alone with him... What do you mean you can't get me a plane ticket home? You're fucking Seamus O'Doherty. You can have people at your mercy if you some much as snap your fingers... Seamus-”

Aleks pulls his head away from the door, no longer interested. He didn't think Ze would want to leave him. As annoying as he can be, Aleks doesn't think he can be alone; especially not now. He's barely hanging on as it is. If he's alone in this unfamiliar apartment with his own thoughts and desires...

He's a nuclear power plant just waiting to explode.

He grits his teeth to try and keep himself in check. He's not breaking down over a couple of words. They're just words and they're just from Ze. Ze means nothing to him. Ze is just a little accessory that comes from being... something with Seamus. He subconsciously glares at the door in front of him, a fist resting on the door frame, clenched so tight that it shakes.
