Mary's: POV
-Flashback-
July 17th 1918: Chicago
"The Spanish flu has taken half of all patients here." said Jonathan with a sigh. "It's so tragic." I replied. "Miss. Joseph, a man named Anthony want to see you." said Laura. "Thank you." I replied and ran to room 105. I opened the door and knelt beside his bed. I stroked his sweaty forehead and gave him a napkin when he coughed up blood.
"Mary...don't, I can infect you." said Anthony weakly. "I can not get sick." I replied. "Why?" he asked confused and coughed up more blood. "Because I'm a vampire." I said low. "Vampire." he replied. "I was born in Transylvania and I was nanny to Vlad Tepes youngest son Ingeras and best friend of his eldest son Adam." I said. "Do you mean Vlad the impaler?" asked Anthony scared. "Yes, but he was a kind-hearted and caring man who cared about his family and his people." I said.
"Please turn me into a vampire so I will be free from this terrible disease." he replied. "Do you trust me?" I asked. "I'll always trust you, no matter what." he said and platted my hand. I bit my wrist brought it to his mouth. "What's next?" he asked. "You die." I said sadly and he took his last breath.
He woke up a few days later and I told him everything he needed to know about his new life. "You saved my life." said Anthony and kissed my lips. "I couldn't let you die." I replied and kissed him back. "My vampire nurse." he said and I laughed softly.
