"But mom I don't feel good" I said while fake coughing "can I please stay home another day" I pleaded.

I got released from the hospital three days ago and I still haven't been to school, why go I already know what's going to happen and what's going to be said; call me a coward but I just don't feel up to it.

"no nothing is wrong with you you're going to school even if I have to drag you there, stop letting them kids get the best of you; let them talk shit as long as they don't touch you fuck them." my mom ranted while washing the dishes "now go get dressed Cam should be on his way"

I huffed and stomped up the stairs.

"Stop stomping up my damn stairs for stomp a hole in you" my mom yelled

I rolled my eyes, and sat on my bed thinking about the events that happened only a couple days ago. I could've died that day I thought to myself as I got up to find an outfit to wear. No one really talked to me about what happened, it's like it was this big dream the bandage on my wrist proves that statement wrong though.

I threw on some sweat pants and a Nike shirt and topped it off with a bun and Nike slides. "alright you can do this a year from now these people won't even matter" I said to myself as I looked in the mirror for the first time in four days. I haven't been really doing much besides crying and sleeping.

"Alaina Cam is here" I heard my mom yell

I took a deep breath, grabbed my bag and walked downstairs "see y'all later have a good day I love you and Alaina your dad is going to be picking you up from school" my mom said

"okay love you" I said while closing the door and walking to Cams car.

"wassup bum you can't text nobody back"

"I haven't really been on my phone like that"

"well when I text you better be on it" he said while reaching over and hitting my bun

I popped his hand "boy don't play and you could've just came by"

"you got that gas money"

I looked out the window like I didn't hear him

"exactly with yo broke ass"

I laughed "shut up loser you don't even live far you can walk"

"in these shoes chile no" he said while snapping his fingers

"oh my lord"

"But seriously though you good Lainy" he said glancing over at me

I stopped laughing "yeah I'm feeling a lot better their making me go to this therapy thing on Saturday. All of this was a real eye opener for me"

"that's wassup but you know if you ever need someone to talk to I'm here for you"

I smiled "thank you Cam and vice versa"

He pulled up to the school "alright enough sappy shit we got a test in math and you already know I ain't study" He said as we got out the car

"Oop that sound like a pp"

He scrunched his face up at me "a what"

"a personal problem"

He mugged me as I laughed "mane shut up with that witch cackle"

That only made me laugh harder "you mad" I said pinching his cheeks

"move ain't nobody mad" he argued while pushing my hands away

As we walked into the school it felt like all eyes we're on us but mainly on me, as we were walking to my locker, Amber this quirky white girl walked up to us "hey Alaina"

"Uh hi" I said while glancing at Cam, confused as to why she came up to me.

"well I heard about what happened on Tuesday I'm so sorry hun" she said while looking at me sympathetically "I decided to make you a card it's signed by half the student body and the whole debate team. She said while pulling out a card from her bag.

"thank you" I said while taking the glittery card

"read the card"

I sighed and read it

"out loud please"

"mane she can read this lil card later we gotta get to class" Cam said

Amber gasped "this little card is signed by the WHOLE debate team, the four time champion debate team its even signed by the captain" she said proudly

"you're the captain of the debate team though" I said

"Exactly, why you should read it out loud"

"if she don't want to read this LIL card out loud she don't have to I don't care if you are the captain of the nerd team"

"the debate team you--"

"okay okay I'll read the freaking card out loud" I said

"thank you" Amber said while giving Cam a smug look

"Dear Alaina I hope you get the help you need, so you won't try to harm yourself again" I sighed and closed the card

"wonderful right I wrote it myself but that's only half continue reading it gets better" Amber said smiling

Before I could do anything Cam grabbed the card and ripped it up before throwing the shreds in an angry Amber's face.

"I try to do something nice for someone how rude" she said before storming off

I let out a breath "thank you"

"I don't like that girl anyway after watching Get Out ion trust white people like that"

I laughed "yeah that movie was good"

As I grabbed the things I needed out of my locker Sam walked up to me

"go somewhere she no longer needs yo service you are dismissed" Cam said

"I just want to talk to Alaina"

"too bad"

"what's your problem Cam I did nothing too you" She said while crossing her arms and glaring at Cam

"first the drama with my cousin then you tell Alaina business to the whole damn school"

"okay the drama with Te is resolved and I didn't try to tell Alaina's business my Instagram page is on private someone screen shot it that's how it spread"

"But it was my business at the end of the day I didn't ask or give you permission to post that shit" I spoke up surprising them and myself

"that's cause she want clout for that shit you a fake ass friend" Cam said while shaking his head and mugging Sam

"no I didn't want clout I wanted people to--"

"people to what? know my business like you couldn't just leave it at please pray for her no you had to go all out and tell everything" I've never this angry I wanted to punch her in the face

"okay and they would've found out one way or another honestly"

By now there were a couple of kids stopping to see what all the fussing was about.

"HOW though it was a family matter not the schools matter"

"it doesn't matter I told the school and I already apologized what more do you want Alaina"

"I want you to get out my face" I said while walking to class with Cam beside me

"are you forreal right now Alaina" she said while grabbing my arm making me drop my binder

"yo don't touch her back the fuck up" Cam said while I picked up my binder and looked at Sam who was furious

"don't put your hands on me"

"all we been through and you through our friendship away that quick you're the fake one" she said

"you were never a real friend honestly you barely know anything about me half the time when we have a conversation it's about you so don't even" I said while walking away.
